Towing a 5.0 with a 2008 Tundra

I'd like any information/advice for getting a hitch, hook-up and towing a 5.0 with a 4WD 2008 Tundra limited edition truck. My rails are 54", length of bed is 64". I'm just wondering about placement of the hitch and problems with any clearances. I assume the hitch goes over the axle of the truck? I've never towed with a 5th wheel.

Thanks in advance,

Gerry

Tundra Towing ??

Hi Jerry

I saw your question on Tundra Towing. Just starting to go down this path.

Just put a deposit on a 5.0 TA today. Looks like I have a loooooonnngg time to find a tow vehicle.

Would love a used Tundra. Dont know how that works on a short bed like the Tundra

It kicks ass! That's how it does!

However one problem, do not try and turn a true 90° angle turn. It will not do it with a short box. Yeah, I know!

I love mine! The 5.7 L v8 never is without good acceleration. Love it!

Plus it handles the load very nicely with it's big beefy body!

Wind? It handles that too with the 5.0!

Great. Thanks for the reply Uncle Tim. I have never had any trailer that I could cut a 90 degree angle anyway! Yes, the Tundra has great power- never had any problems there. Fuel mileage, on the other hand... But fuel doesn't cost that much especially when compared to safety factors.

Thank you for the messagel.
