Towing a 5.0TA with a F250

Does anyone haul their 5.0 with a F250 4X4? My 2017 with 6'9" bed is about 59" tall at the back of the bedrails and center of the tailgate. The towing guide says 58" max with the high lift axle. Can adjustments be made with the hitching setup? Likely would be using the Anderson Hitch, have the factory mounting pucks.

I have air bags and the high lift frame.

Mine sits at 60 inches most of the time. I can go lower. But this is fine. They told me 58" with the standard trailer and 60.5" with the high lift.

When loaded, as it is right now, it sits at 54" high. With the 5.0 on it.

I have a Tundra short bed too.

Is your bed top 59” without any load in the bed? How high is it with 6-800 pounds in the bed?

I do

Before ordering the trailer I sent my truck measurements to ETI. They said I would have to get the high lift axel. Works great and tows like a dream. I also use the Andersen adaptor because my truck had a factory installed gooseneck setup.

Sharon, your truck is a '17 + F250?

Here is a listing for a 5.0 with high lift axle and it is hooked up to an F250 in the photos so you can see the bed clearance. I realize the OP has a 2017, but the 2020 year lowered the bed height by about one inch compared to 2019.

Raider 47, just noticed that you have your spare mounted on top of your pin box, if you ever have the occasion to remove the spare tire could you photograph the bracket? I'd be interested in the design. Thanks.

Sorry, not my picture. I copied it from another post selling a 5.0

Also, looking at the pictures, I think it's mounted to a Reese Goose Box.

Here's the listing: 2015 Escape 5.0 TA for sale
The seller (phlbua) noted that
Quote:
While using the trailer, I moved the spare tire mount to the top of the King pin as shown on one of the pictures. This is because, I mounted an aluminum enclosure at the back of the trailer for my 2800 W generator.
... but that's it for information. I haven't found a post by phlbua in any other thread that mentions the bracket.

It appears from the second image that it is not a Reese Goose Box.

This is a different bracket from the one that Dave58 put together - this one holds the spare in a much more vertical position.
