The grades on the Interstates are fixed at 6% whereas non Federal highways or streets can have up to 37% grades. Try pulling your trailer up that!! Canton Ave in Pittsburgh,Pa

I can make Canton Ave. flat, Jim. But then, the houses and trees lean

Seeing that makes me want to regear my truck to like 4.56. And add two turbos.

We've pulled the trailer up plenty of 6% grades, although nothing quite as extreme in terms of both elevation and distance at grade as the Ike. I remember pulling our tent trailer up that hill many years ago with an '84 Chevy S10. 20-25 mph in 2nd gear. That experience was firmly in mind when I picked the tow vehicle for our 21 - and yes, we ordered the trailer first, then went looking for a tow. I also note that in the places we like to go, road conditions other than grade tend to reduce speeds. Highway 3 going east out of Osooyos comes to mind.

Colorado diesel

I've towed my Escpe 17 at least 10000 miles with my 2016 Colorado diesel. It tows like a dream with or without my Andersen wdh. Your 3.6 will be fine. My only issue is that the suspension is a little soft causing the front to be slightly up. No problems except your low beams point slightly up causing a few drivers to flash their high beams at night. The wdh obviously solves that.

There's an adjuster fitting over each light. I give it 2 turns and the return it when home. Try it on a wall from 10' out

Before the Eisenhower ("Ike") Tunnels were built in the early 1970's, you had to drive an even higher, steeper, curvier and narrower road over Loveland Pass (11,990 ft).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loveland_Pass
That was serious slow going, especially in the winter with 10's of thousands of skiers on the east side of the pass trying to get to and then back from all the big ski resorts on the west side of the pass.
