Any one towing with the 2.7 with hitch and integrated brake controller ? instead of tow package. This would limit my max tow to 6,000 instead of the 7400. I thinking 6,000 would be plenty for a 19 escape . The tow package is $1300 and only includes hitch and brake controller in my model XL trim. so i could save $735 buying those as stand alone options. There may be a radiator with larger cores But i can not confirm that. Ford cant come up with anything else it includes . My thought are i would not want to tow more than 6,000 with this engine anyways. with the new 10 speed transmission There is no additional cooling also no added oil cooler. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this?
I have a 2021 Supercrew, 2WD Lariat, 2.7L Ecoboost, 10 spd, integrated brake controller, no tow package. The 19 tows like a dream.

2022 model year F150 Order Bank closing May 13, 2022
Just FYI for anyone considering special order of a 2022 model year F150, Ford has announced that opportunity will end at 10PM on May 13th. Complete text of the notice to dealers with details is posted here on the Blue Oval forum:
There may be detail and option-bundling differences for MY 2023, and almost certainly price increases, but there's been no published info from Ford suggesting any major / significant redesign or drivetrain changes.
there's probably a larger aftermarket tank for that Silverado, but maybe not. I'm finding tanks for all sorts of HD trucks (2500/3500). a full 36 gallon tank would be like 250 lbs taken off your payload. ah, a few vendors have aux tanks that fit in the front of the bed much like a truck toolbox, these are 'transfer tanks', you run your main tank down til its low, then switch on the transfer pump and it refills the main tank from the aux tank, then switch it off again.
interesting, the regular cab chevy 1500s have a 28 gallon tank, but the crew and double cabs have 22 gallons.
My F150 super crew with tow package came with a 36 gallon tank.

Depends on the year, model, and tow package. In 2018 there were 3 different tow packages, depending on model. For my STX Off Road SuperCab with a $995 tow package & 3.5 engine, the 36 gallon tank was a $445 option, as was the $275 integrated brake controller. The pretty much useless "Pro Trailer Backup Assist" was part of the package. I believe the 36 gallon tank was included with the "Max Trailer Tow Package".
Another interesting option - if you add the tow mirrors at $395, you have no choice but to also add the LED Side Mirror Spotlights for another $175.
Still, with 52K on the odometer, my dealer is offering me more than I paid for it if I wanted to sell...

Those Order Guides are the definitive resource for available options and bundling requirements at any point in time (but they do not include MSRP info - price changes are not necessarily linked to option availability, so price matrices are a separate item).

Well I ordered a F150 today, I have no idea if i have it for the fall annual trip out west or not. I might regret not buying one off the lot. I really wanted white and 36 gallon tank . ordered a super cab 2.7 4x4 with hitch and brake controller ,But with out the tow package . This will put my max tow at 6000 witch should be plenty for any escape. Now that I think about you can bumper pull up to 5000 with these trucks. Not that I would. I don't want to get excited as i not sure how long it will take. Basically I want the truck and ford wants to sell it to, But not sure they can get enough parts to build it. I almost bought a used one 2021 with 17,000 . had been flat towed behind a moterhome. I have no idea how many miles it been towed. Truck was very clean. My first Eco boost so I thought I better go new.besides The 36 gallion tank is not on anything on the lot. The picture is exactly what I ordered But in oxford white instead of space white. should look good with the escape. Thanks for everyone's feedback. Centex and Karm for turning me onto Granger Ford, Granger, IA. They did have the best price,But I stayed local as they locked in my trade until truck comes in.

Just me wife and dog so its plenty of room for us. I love the way the ford doors open. they seem to be the only one still doing it this way. It seems in supercab style the true 4 door seem so much smaller. I looked at the new tundra that was a big turn off.
Love the Supercab also. Certainly didn't need a second set of full size doors or a full size rear seat.
I did the same thing that I did with my Ranger. I removed the rear jump seats. It's a perfect place to carry our folding electric bikes. Completely out of sight and easy in and out. Even without the bikes I'd have still removed the seats for more storage area and 70# out is 70# more carrying capacity.

It is a 2018 with Max Tow pkg. I have the back up assist which works well with my boat trailer even though I do not use it.

For anyone shopping used I came across A interesting fact. The safety rating was improved in march of 2021 . so there was two different safety ratings for 2021 https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle...ab-pickup/2021
Love our supercab too and would like to get another but they are so rare here. There seems to be more and more 157" wheelbase super crew with 6.5 box but after manoeuvring our 145" in a tight parking lot in Winnipeg today I don't want the extra length but want the box.
We were thinking of getting a new truck next year so maybe this fall I'll look at factory order for one.
Unlike Ron I can't remove our rear seats as we often have the grands back there.

i have two complaints about the 'supercab' on my f250.... 1) it can rattle on rough roads, and 2) the back seat is pretty uncomfortable for any but the shortest trips. 1 likely would be alleviated with new rubber door blocks and wedges, this truck has just 260,000 miles on it, and has spent a fair bit of time on dirt roads.
I hear ya, you and the many others in your situation have my empathy for sure.
Much of the delay duration seems to depend on the trim level and features ordered, but that's a constantly shifting landscape and very difficult to predict it seems.
I guess I got lucky (pure chance), the 2022 Lariat I ordered on 12/22/2021 just went to "In Production" status and the Monroney sticker was posted last Wednesday after 8-rescheduled estimated build week notices from Ford. There's every opportunity for more delays before it's actually available to pick up at the dealer, but at least there's apparent progress at last.
Hang in there, we just gotta hope the wait is worth it as it was when I ordered my Escape 5.0 which took a year to receive. At least with the F150 the dealer has price protection from Ford which is passed through to me, I'll be paying the sale price agreed when I ordered in spite of 3 different base and option MSRP increases since then.
The fact that I still have my one-owner 2005 F150 attests to how long I plan to keep this one (knock on wood).
Thanks for the pep-talk. I needed that!

Just FYI, here's the specs and payload sticker for my ordered 2022 F150 SuperCab Lariat with 3.5 EcoBoost. I had just hoped to at least match the 1729# payload rating of my 2005 XLT SuperCab, I'm thrilled to see 1848# on this one. It arrived at the Granger, Iowa, dealership yesterday, I'll be flying up the first week in June to drive it home to Texas.

Nice truck - and great deal on the price. We had similar savings on ours in March, but that was with the Ford employee discount (dad is a Ford retiree). That 360-degree Camera Package is awesome. The “overhead view” it generates really helps me when I’m trying to back into a tight spot. Wish we could get that on our new 21C when we pick it up next month.
36 gal. tank note: I was looking at two f-150's on the dealer's lot one day. I think they may have been fleet trucks. Both looked to have the identical equipment listing but one had an approximately 200 lb. greater payload. After reviewing the window labels, I realized the truck with the 36 gal. tank had the lower payload rating. Looks like the fuel is figured in your payload figures. I would go with the larger tank any day. I figure each fuel stop adds 20-30 minutes to your trip.

yeah at 6 lbs/gallon, a 36 gallon tank holds like 216 lbs of gas
catch-22 with a large tank like thiat, with today's elevated gas or diesel prices, it often takes two swipes of a credit card to fill the tank. One place in Sandy Eggo in March had a $75 limit, so it took THREE swipes to fill my truck with $5.889/G diesel, but we were heading to Death Valley that morning and needed the full tank. Topped off in Barstow before hitting the National Park where we saw...
