Thank you. I feel like Goldilocks. I used to have a short bed Lance TC - my intro to TCs. I liked it, but no oven, and just a bit too small. Now we have the triple slide Chalet TC - no oven, and my husband’s choice, but he does not live in it as much as I do. Now I am getting what feels like the “just right” one for me - with an oven, so I can do my baking (yes - I baked bread in the camper when I had a Chinook camper van).

Safe travels.

Late to this party, but I was showing my wife some Northern-Lite photos and floorplans, and she asked, "Where do you put your extra stuff?"

We bumper-pullers generally have the back of our pickup or SUV (like our Ford Expedition) to stow gear and bins full of camping and boating stuff. But where would you put all that with a truck camper?

Same question for 5th-wheelers, I guess. . .

Good question for truck campers. I’ve seen the 5th wheel guys still be able to situate a fair amount of stuff into the bed of the truck when hitched so it’s not as big of a problem as with a truck camper.

Re: 5th wheel - we have not had one, so I can’t amswer that.

For TC storage, much of it comes down to choosing carefully what is important to be carried, and how to stow things efficiently. With my prior TC, I had an F350 with only the extended cab (small back seat area). Storage was limited both in the TC and the back seat of the truck.

With the NL I am getting, there is a good basement storage tray. Plus, I now have a Ram with a crew cab, which is used for storage when needed. I live full time in the TC, and have to choose what I really - REALLY - need to bring with me. It is not just about the available storage area, but it is even more about payload and safety issues.

IMO the answer lies in recognizing that different folks have different wants / needs insofar as "extra stuff" and (hopefully) choose vehicle+RV rigs that satisfy their particular requirements.

One size / type of rig does not fit all, that's why it's great to have many options available in the marketplace.

Whatever "extra stuff" and rig configuration works for you: Have Fun!

You folks need to listen to a George Carlin routine about his 'stuff'.

The E19 is the biggest RV we have ever had. Our BigFoot 9.6 had a basement and we have a standard cab truck we used with it. We lived in it for 5 months between houses moving from Ak to Ks. Had many long trips in it. We’ve never yet filled up an RV. It all comes down to how much “stuff” you need. We carry a table, grill, two chairs and footstools plus the usual RV stuff like black tank, backpacks, and sometimes a boat or bikes. We don’t store stuff on the floor. It always works just fine. Maybe someday we’ll fill an RV, but I doubt it.
