Bar Harbor, Me- KOA- Acadia NP

Arrived after a 12 hour drive during a Nor'easter storm. Site was right on the ocean with the wind blowing seaward. There was a fellow cooking lobster, corn and chowder in the campground and brought it to your site. Our first nights dinner. Next day the storm was gone and clear blue sky. The sunsets were wonderful. There was a pancake breakfast and the chef made a pancake look like the Escape. Last picture is my co-pilot-Hershey.

This guy comes up every year from the south, his son's still fish in the area. He cooks at the cg every day from June to September, cooking lobster and corn in sea water, that he says is the secret, the sea water. Oh, and plenty of butter.

After looking at that lobster picture, I had to fix myself some lunch...not even in the same league.

If you were at the KOA on the ocean side, that was Clayton who sold you lobster and that is the best lobster I have ever had. I think his secret is that he steams the lobster and never boils them.

Yes, his name was Clayton, white hair and quite a character. Steamed, not boiled in sea water from the bay.

Love it Jim, That campground is on my list. Sometime I gotta have a chat with you. My 70+ year old mom said "I will go camping with you if you have the space in the camper" Looks like a 19 or 21 is in my future. She mentioned this campground as well! Gotta do it while you can!
