Joshua Tree National Park.

I do not post very often but read a great many posts on what would appear to be great trailers.
Who is a member of the forum from Ontario, owns a Escape fifth wheel, drives a GM Z71 half ton and was camping in Ryan Campground on 12th April but left early morning on the 13th?
Whoever it was I just miss you. Got up late on Friday morning as I had made the long drive from Calgary.
I wish I had "disturbed" you on Thursday evening now!
Howard.

Re: Joshua Tree National Park.

That's us - Barb & John Roberts from North Bay.
That was a long drive for you. It took us most of a month to get from the Escape factory in Chilliwack to Joshua Tree. Sure is a great park!
If you're still on the road where are you now? We're in Yosemite and Yellowstone is our next nationsl park.

Re: Joshua Tree National Park.

Great to have seen the fifth wheel. It does look quite sharp I must admit! Had me thinking about that instead of a travel trailer. Hopefully in the not too distant future................!
Back home in Calgary now. We spent the week climbing which is my main forcus and has been for a long time. I really envy you now being in Yosemite.
It is my plan soon, to maybe spend the winter on the road in the US and the summers in a cabin I am fortuate to have in Southern BC.
How does the Z71 pull the trailer, as it is a vehicle I have contemplated myself? I have a Tacoma but consider it a bit small and underpowered to tow with.
I am really sorry that I never made myself know to you but I was too tired to do much that evening except to eat and go to sleep!
Hopefully I will run into you again somewhre.
Thank you for responding.
Howard.

Re: Joshua Tree National Park.

I like the size of the Z71 - it handles the trailer no problem. We have the 4.8l small V-8 which has lots of power and gets about 18 miles / Canadian gallon. The trailer is brand new but we already had the truck. It was my hunting / cottage truck so we thought we'd try it out and it's been great.

Our previous trailer was a Kamparoo from Australia but imported by a guy in Calgary.

We had fun watching the rock climbers in Joshua Tree but we're just hikers. Maybe we can meet when you come to Ontario to climb the ice in Agawa Canyon.

Regards,
John

Re: Joshua Tree National Park.

That might happen sooner than you think! We have been talking of a trip East in Winter.

Thanks a bunch for the info.
I'll keep you informored on any trip.
If you haunted areas like J.Tree then I am sure we will meet again.
Howard.
