KOA in WEst Virginia Flatwoods

This is a really nice KOA with pull thru sites, concrete patio pads and heated water supply for winter hookups. The restrooms are new and clean. This location is also a Day's INN Conference Center so KOA guests have full use of the pool, spa, weight and other facilities. There is a restaurant and pub located in the hotel also. Breakfast is supposed to be $7 for campers(free for hotel guests) but they did not charge me for breakfast today. With my KOA card, $108 including tax for 3 nights, full hookups. They have heated water spigots at each site so you can either connect your own heated hose or fill you tank. Wi/FI is also included, cable is in progress. Really clean campground and at night there is a roving watch person who makes hourly rounds, really feel secure here, although we are in the middle of nowhere in the West Virginia mountains, up maybe 1500 feet above sea level.
There is also an open air amphitheater for summer concerts and out door pool both of which are closed now for the season.
Pictures to follow.

For $24/year, you receive a 10% discount. You also accumulate points for staying at KOA, like on a credit card. These can be traded in for free camping or $$. Right now I have 13,000 points, after 15,000 the points are doubled.

Great review, Jim!

This KAO is directly south of me and I may check it out this spring. I've been wanting to go to the New River Gorge in WV for several years now. Instead I have spent thousands of dollars for gas to drive to the Rockies.

Thanks,

Glenn

BTW, what brings you out in this wicked weather?

I saw that we should have single digit temps tonight, so button up tight.

Gathered firewood in the woods, built a fire, walked the dogs, went on line, cooked meals, cleaned up, went into the small village. Same as you would do in any location except had to stay warm.

I believe all the snow that should be covering the park ended up in my back yard!
