The one time I visited (day trip) it smelled of dead fish. I’ve had no desire to return. Hope your visit was better.

Apparently that does happen! We were there mid-February, the temps were cool, it was windy and didn't smell at all! I guess we were lucky!
Thanks for looking!

And while you’re in the area, be sure to spend a few nights in Slab City.
A real experience.

Years ago. My wife with Leonard, the builder of the mountain. He gave us a personal tour of his creation.

That's awesome! I'm working on the Slab City video - started last night and hope to have it done in a day or two. Then Anza Borrego, Joshua Tree, Kofa Wildlife Refuge, Saguaro NP, yikes.....

It was interesting. Don’t recall just when we were there probably around 2005.

When we told our daughters about it, they couldn’t believe that people chose that lifestyle Travelling is such an eye opener.

That is one thing I would like to check out. There are other things to check out in the area as well. The Blue Angels do their winter training in March at the El Cental Naval Air Station and kick off their show schedule there. The Glamis sand dunes are not too far, and you can always do a day trip to Mexico for shopping and a meal.

I was absolutely amazed to see very expensive motor coaches parked out there near "Breaking Bad" rv's and cobbled-together vans. In my former career I dealt with a lot of homeless/drug addicted/dysfunctional folks. While I found it interesting, I wouldn't go there after dark, let alone spend the night....but that's just me!
