Size restrictions ...

We've camped in places that have 'age requirements' for the RVs (e.g., no RVs older than 10 years without management approval, etc.), but this is a new one to me. At a new campground in Texas, they require that towable RVs be a minimum of 24' in length (https://coastalbreezervresort.com/parking-vehicles/). Guess if one is making reservations at an upscale resort, you'd better read the fine print.

Yes, restrictions are getting more plentiful especially in FL. I almost bought an RV pad in FL at a nice park for wintering, and just happened to ask if there were any restrictions. Sent them the specs on the Escape and none of the Escape models met their length requirements.
Many parks are now Class A only or Class A and Fifth wheel with age restrictions as well. Always need to remember to ask when making reservations and have the specs ready to email them.
We finally decided to get on the ERPU lease waiting list for Escapees park for our East Coast base and we should time out just about right on the time it takes to get an offer of a site.

Kind of reminds me of my parting comments when thrown out of a few different Honky Tonks over the years. Not fit to print but compared the tavern to a well decorated outhouse.
I guess it’s private property and they can make their own rules seems pretty high class to me for what a campground really is, a landscaped parking lot. Just my $.02 ....... $.03 Canadian, now we’re up to a nickel.

Yeah, that reminds me of having to stay one night at Ranch Sedona RV park as all the nearby public campgrounds were closed due to Gov't shutdown. The folks next to us had a huge class A and a little Mercedes that we found out later they had a box trailer to carry it in. Those folks are where the $$$ are obviously and like this forum those parks are not a democracy. Just another reason why we love to boondock. Try it- you might love it too.

On my way home this fall I stopped at Riverfront RV Park in Yuma without a reservation. The guard at the gate wouldn't let me and my new Escape in as I was also less than 24'. Even for overnight. I went down the road to Las Quintas Oasis and had a great site and a nice welcome. Seems a shame for them to turn away money when sites are empty.

So I guess showing up in a converted cargo trailer is out of the question...unless of course it is over 24 ft.

Ran into that problem a few years ago at Casa Grande.Was told :You can not come in here with that small trailer.There is another park down the road.Yeah we found another place,
signs all over like do not walk on the grass.No smoking of course, no dogs in this area and so on, but we ended up staying two nights paying top dollars.Go with the flow I guess.

I kind of prefer when I find a campsite and can stay because the maximum length accommodated is 21 feet or so! I’ll be camping on the coast of Florida where my site was available because most rigs wouldn’t fit in. Definitely enjoy staying where the big rigs don’t prefer. No on site water, electric, sewer or cable.....that’s fine by me! After50+ years in a tent, I feel like I’m staying in a 5 star hotel in my Escape 19.

When we started RV'ing in 1999 with a small fifth wheel, we lucked into a campground hosting opportunity at Glacier National Park. All the hosts typically had large motorhomes or big fifth wheels, and there was one small campground that had a little host site that none of them could fit in so we got it. Spent two wonderful summers there, the host site had full hookups and was right on the shore of Lake McDonald, the small campground was tents only so was very peaceful.

You have my attention! We are heading to Big Bend NP for our third year of campground hosting. At this point we think we have explored most of the park and are looking for a new adventure. A location that doesn't remind us daily of the inside of an oven is sounding more and more attractive, as does green scenery and running water. A tent-only campground on a lake? Does it get any better?

Ya, but when the 40 footers want to camp for 6$ Canadian at a forest Res. site and cant fit, they want trees cut down so they can . You know what I would say …. Your right .

Saving money is probably not a priority for people who stay in a place that lists a "Shopping Tournament" amongst their attractions.

Na , there just cheap. Most times they don't even get out … not even tp pay there 6 $.
They let there dog out for a Poo that they don't pick up . Then you hear the grinding motor as there satellite Dish goes up. And then there's that noisy on board gen. Luckily most times there gone the next day .

When requesting a site we always say. "Small fifth wheel; 22 feet in length; no slides; 30 AMP; and 36 feet including the truck when hooked up. That seems to cover it. There is a growth in Class A only sites. I think part of it is the look and kind of clientele. After all, most "Escape users" are a different type of clientele. Not good or bad, just different...
