Your site assignment experience: RV size

Does having a smaller RV seem to result in a less than desirable campsite assignment?

Situation: We are currently at KOA in Corbin KY. The “campsite” (#15) feels like we are set up in an RV sales lot. To picture site, think of an end cap display in a grocery store, totally exposed. Rear of RV and front of TV both encroach on road around the site.
Granted, we have gotten nice sites because we are smaller, but it seems to go the other way more often.

Just a topic for discussion.

We have found that you generally have to request a certain site or location when you can at commercial RV parks or they will put you in whatever they feel like. But if you leave it up to them you won't necessarily wind up in the best site they have available. It's helpful to check out campgrounds on Google satellite view ahead of time to have an idea of the lay of the land and know what sites or section to ask for.

This was listed as a 40' pull through.

Hitch was on the ground.

It's been our experience having gone from a 12' T@G to a 17' Casita to a 19' Escape, more often than not we are slotted into smaller sites that are at the front of the campground, near the office.

Thought when we got our E19 we were pretty big, but not compared to the mobile mansions.

I have finally gotten to where I'll ask to have our site changed if possible. That being said, I'd rather be in a site next to another smaller camper than parked between a couple of behemoths.

I’ve noticed that when we ask for a back in spot preference it reduces the end of the row spot selection.
I think most places put the smaller RV units on the ends when they are full.
