5.0 TA Roof maintenance

Just did a fun complete scrub of my roof and would appreciate any suggestions for what to use to protect
It........I use Meguiars marine on rest of trailer....but that's a bit tricky on the roof......I've been using 303 for the last 4 years as I dont have to buff it and can use applicators with handles. Thanks!

I have to do this, this week, after 8,000 miles and 15 states.

Need some recommendations on wax too!

Why do anything? Most people are not tall enough to see if it shines, or not.

We live in a mountainous area.

People can see your roof top around here.

And they talk.

I don't even have a trailer yet but wouldn't be able to sleep at night if the hull was shiny and I knew the roof was ghetto fabulous dirty.. I wouldn't clean it for the masses, I clean for my satisfaction

Tell us if you still hold that position after you've cleaned the roof the first time.

I've had great results with Meguiars marine cleaner wax.
It polishes and removes light oxidation and lasts about a year....or at least I do it once a year. I do use an orbital applicator. I have been using 303 aerospace on roof .
I usually put on a couple of coats letting it dry in between. I will say that after giving the roof a good wash.....it still looks fairly new and all seals look great.
That said...it's not as much fun as it sounds.

I have cleaned the roof of my 5.0TA every year after the camping season and have followed up by applying a coat of Meguier’s Marine Wax. I simply use a 20-foot step ladder, typically wear a bathing suit and tee shirt (no metal that might scratch the fiberglass), and lean over the roof. With sponge in hand, I can reach more than halfway across doing so. In addition, retracting the landing gear can lover the overhang on the TA substantially, making it easier to reach and clean the higher portions of the trailer. Even being over the age of 70, I don’t find this to be particularly difficult. Do I enjoy doing it? No, not really, but I take satisfaction when the job is finished. Washing and waxing my trailer is a two day task and it can be hot in Florida even in November when I typically do it, but I do not want the fiberglass on the top of the trailer to get oxidized and chalky like a fiberglass boat that has been exposed to years of the sun’s UV rays. So I personally still hold that position after having cleaned the roof for the sixth time, with the seventh time soon to be at hand.

Mr. Clean

Hi: C&G in FL... If you don't enjoy doing yours maybe you'd enjoy doing ours... Eh? It's a mess but then I'm the only one that notices!!! It costs a "G" note to have it done by a pro. Don't ask me how I know. http://www.srsdetailing.ca Alf

Sorry Alf, You are on your own there. I reward myself with a steak at Bern’s when I finish doing mine, if that tells you how happy I am once the job is done.

I like your method. I'm going to try that and I agree with November hot but better than summer. Bathing suit, big ladder and lower landing gear..

I almost don't care if it doesn't look great.....more interested in protecting the roof and applying a uv block to seals, covers, etc. I've been using Meguiars marine polish as it does remove light oxidation.....coach looks almost new after over 4 years. Just did a complete heavy duty scrub of roof and am amazed how good it looks ....very little oxidation. I have never waxed the roof and have cleaned it and put several coats of 303 on it.
However, it is in need of a good polish cleaner....and that s where the fun begins. I am also experimenting with a ceramic coating after surface is prepped. I've also found that a good orbital applicator seems to really help.
