Me too, it is my cleaner of choice for any surface that can handle it. I like toluene too for removing sticky stuff. Again, first testing a surface if you are worried is wise.

I am planning to add ham radio to my rig this year, as I got my license last year. What antenna are you planning to use? How will you ground it? Where are you placing it?

Bon Ami is mildly abrasive.
Barkeeper's Friend is non-abrasive but acidic.
"permanent" marker ink like Sharpie is often alcohol soluble. The waterless hand cleaner (sanitizer?) is probably alcohol-based, so it makes sense that it'd work. No need to worry.
Acetone is probably OK to use on gelcoat, but be sure to clean it off quickly and not leave it there. Re-waxing as someone else mentioned is probably a good idea. Also be careful if you're cleaning near rubber seals.

I have two ham antennas, both bolted to the rear bumper of my Escape. The first is a Diamond whip antenna for 2m/70cm mounted on a telescoping mast. Search for "nerdstick" on the forum for info. The second one is a Eagle One antenna for HF that I recently installed. It is essentially a telescoping fiberglass pole with a wire running inside of it, giving a vertical antenna. It has to be used with a tuner, in my case an Icom AH-4. My radio is an Icom IC-7000.
Both antennas seem to work okay, but as I have little ham experience, "okay" to me just means that I can talk to people. So in this case ignorance is bliss. As for grounding, the antennas are grounded to the frame of the trailer. This provides "counterpoise" (I'm still learning this lingo), so you don't have to drive a stake in the ground or anything like that.

DON'T DO THIS! I discovered that the dry erase marker doesn't erase from fiberglass, at least not if it has been on the trailer for a few days or more. After trying several cleaners I was finally able to remove the marks with Bon Ami. No telling what that did to the finish, though. Nothing good I'll bet.

I used EXPO Neon Dry Erase Markers Cleaning isn’t tedious. Just give it one swipe and the color come off without all the residues. I don’t have problems with dry ink on glass surfaces the next day.

I have gotten permanent marker off things (not my escape) with toothpaste. it is a mild abrasive so go easy. maybe, as they say, try in an unobtrusive spot first.
