Need rain cover for electric Jack, L bracket, & coupler

When we purchased a used 2018 19’ foot in January. It came with a trailer cover but it is not big enough to extend over the box, propane tanks, jack and hitch with a lock. It also came with a lot of rust on the horizontal part of the Fastway e2 L brackets. We have a lot of rain in the NW and I don’t have a carport or garage for this trailer so I’m looking for something to protect the front.

I would like to purchase a rain cover to protect the electric jack and coupler with a lock attached that also protects the Fastway trunion sway control L bracket. Ideally it would also also cover the propane tanks and storage box.

I purchased a universal waterproof and breathable cover on-line that advertised it would protect both the jack and coupler (but not the L Bracket). It barely fit (I had to really stretch it out to get it over the coupler) but once I installed a coupler lock it would not fit at all.

I would call Calmark. Expensive, but the cover will be custom made to fit and should last a long time.

Many thanks, I just emailed Calmark. It looks like they have exactly what I am looking for. My other web searches came up less than perfect so I really appreciate your recommendation.

You can get a sway bracket jacket from fastway, wire brush, paint & install these items.
They take the wear & tear instead of the steel bracket. They also considerably cut down on the noise when turning.

If you don't mind, I would like to know how much Calmark wants for this cover? I've been considering one too. I've also been thinking about buying a tarp and cutting it to size and using bungees to hold it in place.

We have a 2015 E17A that we purchased a Calmark cover for (They are about 10 miles from us). It was, in 2015, a little over $600, but it is made with Sunbrella fabric, and in 5 years, has been serving its protective function perfectly. I suspect the cost is a fair amount more now (business costs in CA have risen).

Right now, we have some very high winds (The yearly So.Calif. Santa Ana Winds), and the cover is secure: Calmark has a draw rope around the base perimeter, and vertical straps sewn in at the 1/3 points back from the ends. There are grommets around the base perimeter as well, to which I attach D-rings and have a rope line that criss-crosses under the trailer to further restrain the cover. All this is per Calmark's instructions.
An added bonus is that the fabric has just enough light porosity to allow our solar to trickle-charge the battery. (The trailer is parked in the So.Calif. sun).

Would we do it again: absolutely; it's money spent well.

As mentioned a big bag works to cover up the two battery boxes, propane cover and jack.
I keep in on anytime I am home just to keep the propane cover clean and water from sitting on top of the jack head.

I would second that Don . Did the same for our 19 . Bought for 12 on Amazon a cover for our electric jack if trailer isn’t covered . Pat

I've got one of these (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1) pre-made jack covers for the jack itself and tie an old oilcloth tarp over the rest.

Hi Don, I already have a Calmark cover for our 17B. Agree that it's a well made cover. Unfortunately, I found that using the rope to tighten the cover around the base caused rain to collect on the inside bottom of the cover. It kind of looked like the cover had saddle bags full of water. The rope created a "dam" effect with the water weight pulling the cover down below the rope. The Calmark is not waterproof, it does let rain thru. And that water (on the inside of the cover) has to have a way to exit at the bottom of the cover. Of course in southern CA this is not likely a problem. But up here in WA we get plenty of rain and this uncovered (no pun intended) a design flaw of the Calmark. I live with it by leaving the rope loose so that the sides of the cover remain vertical. This lets the water that makes it to the inside of the cover to exit. My trailer is protected from what little wind we get, so this is not a big deal for me. I use the 2 straps that go over the trailer to keep it from blowing away.

My question to the OP was how much Calmark wanted for just the custom cover that would protect the storage box, propane tanks and tongue?
