I learned yesterday that a large box arrived addressed to my son-in-law. Daughter reported that it was full of cleaners, polishes and waxes, along with pads for his Porter-Cable random orbit polisher.
It appears that he needs this stuff to polish a trailer.

In all seriousness, those of you who haven't seen Glenn's almost 10 year old 17, it still shines. All it takes is a little annual maintenance. I've never really understood the whole Poli Glow thing to be honest. Why neglect the finish on the trailer until it's chalky and oxidized? If you give the trailer a good wax/polish about once a year, there should be no need to restore it.

Of course, Glenn lucks out here. I think his son in law actually enjoys it.

It’s a lot easier to keep them shiny when they stay under a cover. That’s why Glenn’s trailer, that lives outside year round, is an especially good testimonial to the once a year good waxing and polishing. We wax ours once a year and wash it when we come off the road and it’s covered with bugs. It stays in the shed the rest of the time. Rita likes a polymer polish called Rejex. We wash with maguiars gold car wash. It does not cut the wax off the fiberglass. Turtle wax bug and tar in the wheel wells. Then a polish touch up because the Bug and Tar is somewhat aggressive

Here are before pictures. Trailer lives under a couple large cedar trees. You can't see, but there are three cases of beer just inside the door ( Okanagan Spring Pale Ale was on sale ).
I'll repost after trailer is washed, polished and waxed. Only part that may require polishing is where the roof and front of the trailer meet.
I find that a good coat of wax once or twice a year and regular washing with Simonize Wash 'N' Wax solution, the green stuff slides off and the shine is restored.

Got to chirp in here with my before-after pix.

After almost 5 years saw mild oxidation on the roof. Had never waxed it. Tried StarBrite premium cleaner wax on it but was not satisfied. Switched to Meguiars 67 for oxidation, with a buffing wheel. Finished it off with Meguiars Flagship Marine wax. Not cheap stuff for sure but Myron likes it.

Is the beer for your son-in-law who is going to be doing all that work?

Thanks Myron, I'll have to try the 67, used their Paint Cleaner but it was very slow going. I also found Starbrite does nothing for oxidation. Lasts longer then wax but not as nice a shine.

Myron going to try the Mequiar's 67 and I do have the Mequiar's Flagship Premium Marine wax . I was just using Mequiar's 56 then Flagship in some bad area's . I also mostly on the roof used Shurhold pro polish wax and sealer with the buffer . The roof was the worst to keep looking good . Now got the solar up there will skip all that . Will try the 67 . Like Mequiar's products . Thanks for the head's up ! Pat
