Yes, John, over the years as models changed so have the storage options...I remember using the one you mentioned in my 2014 E21.

We do not remember getting any strange looking clips. I open the freezer door, open the fridge door, and they kinda lock on each other. In storage we are leaning to port, so a hot pad is placed on the freezer door so it will not close. After 2 days, we just close everything up. Humidity is 3-10% here in AZ.

They were loose in one of the drawers with some Escape cards and those 15/30 amp adapters Escape provides. Depending on model that may look different. They also put them inside the refer in the past.
