One reason I think Dexter wants the seals glued in place (people have had a hard time removing) is so the seals are not pushed out when grease is pumped in, especially if a person is aggressive pumping the grease. We never glued seals in when I worked as a mechanic for 38 years, but we didn’t pump grease in either.
I agree and was about to post this same thought. I don’t know any other reason why an adhesive would suddenly become necessary with grease seals.
