Where to place jack on a 19
So...when I get home from Saturday morning at the office, I'd like to do something fun and jack up the trailer and inspect my electric brakes. Still have this lock up problem on one side.
Where is the best place to put a jack? Frame? Axle?

Frame. Per Dexter Axle Service Manual, page 53, found in file section: "Do not lift or place supports on any part of suspension system."

You really do not need a jack, just ride the one wheel up on a block of wood and it will raise the other wheel off the ground!!! One of the benefits of tandem axles.

Reace recommends placing the jack under the frame just to the rear of the back tire.

Thanks!
The rear of the tires looks like the only place to put a jack near the tires. Gray water tank is in the way towards the front. But...I thought I might as well try the "drive one tire on block of wood" method. Which works really well.
I did not take the wheel apart though. All 4 spin with the same effort so it does not appear to be an adjustment problem. But the front curb side locks up hard when driving, even with the output of the Ford brake controller turned down to "2" out of a max of "10". I think I'll take it in to the local RV dealer and get an opinion. I think the Dexter warranty is 2 years, but I can't find any literature in the stack of stuff that came with the trailer last July.

FWIW I keep my controller on 2.0, the lowest I've ever used since towing on my new 21' and it works fine. I believe this is a electric current measurement and perhaps it will increase over time. With prior units it has ranged from 2.8 to 1.8.

Dexter has a lot of great literature available on their site. You may find it of value in determining what's going on with your brake assembly: http://www.dexteraxle.com/resource_library_

On page 22 of the new ownwer's manual posted on ETI's web
site it states:
Brake Adjustment
2. Raise the wheel off the ground. Place the jack under the axle only.
Is this an error?

I think it is an error, based on everything I've ever read.
