5.0 TA Prefoam Undercarriage

If anyone is interested. Living far off I asked for some photos of the undercarriage in case the need arise where I need to do some work. I can only locate 2 tanks, the fresh and one of the waste, anyone know where the missing one is?

Isn't the black water tank "inside" on the 5.0TA? I received build pics today, sure looks like it!

Crap, I just went through 30 pages of the Friday builds and didn't see the pic I was looking for. I know it's here some where on the forums... I'll continue to look...

Dang it, I can't find it! It was a pic showing the black water tank and part of it going under the "closet" of the 5er.

I believe that for all the ETI units the black tank is inside the fiberglass shell, under the toilet and extending into the appropriate "hidden" space - under the bed, bench seat, or whatever.

The interesting thing is the ETI website is listing the TA tanks as the same size as the 19.. they sure look like the 21 sized tanks in these pix.. maybe a feature update required on their website.

Last time I looked, all of the specs are for the classic 5.0, and have not been updated for the TA.

Does anyone know what type of suspension they went with? Always liked the torsion suspension....

I also understood there were 3 exterior lights included - porch/ driver/ and under the 5th wheel hitch?

I looked at the 21 brochure- it mentions water fill hatch - I would think this is on every trailer?

From the looks of the 2nd picture down, it's the EZ-Flex with a pair of leaf springs.

http://l.b5z.net/i/u/6149609/f/produ...Flex_11-12.pdf

I have the single leaf springs now and found I had to replace the bushings at the ends of the leaf's a couple years ago, roughly 15k-20k miles. Don't now if these are the same but it's something to keep in mind down the road.

Dexter Axle - Trailer Axles and Running Gear Components - K71-371-00 Rubber Equalizer Bushing

Yes, there are 3 lights. You have to ask if you want switches at the door for any or all of them.

I wonder why ETI switched from torsion to spring axles on the new 5.0 ? Does it impact ride quality any?

Hi: cpaharley2008... It was to be more adjustable for med. to large sized trucks. At least that's what I understood Reace to have indicated!!!
Not only that but the trailer seems to ride nicer with the equalizers to shift the load from axle to axle. Alf

Gee guys, aren't you worried that someone will rake you over the coals for asking questions about Reace's choice of chassis components? I suppose it's okay if you don't mention shocks :

Yes, the stated reason was the ease of changing ride height to suit different truck box heights.

Yes, some load sharing between multiple axles helps ride, and a Torflex system doesn't do that.

Also, all suspensions have springs. The design used on the TA uses leaf springs. I have no explanation of why some people use "spring axle" to mean "leaf spring suspension".
