Introducing Va Bene

Hello Fellow Escapees;

We brought our Va Bene home to Whidbey Island yesterday! For those of you unfamiliar with Italy or Italian, va bene is used in conversation like we use "o.k." but the literal translation is "it goes well". It is pronounced "vah ben-ay", with the accent on the "ben". We lived in Italy for 3 years and I always loved the literal translation of the expression. Hence, we blessed our new trailer with it .

I'm posting some photos; we decided to hold off on any modifications until we attend the rally in Merritt and see what others have done. We're looking forward to meeting all of you who are planning on being there!

CIAO:curtjoy... Nice digs!!! Looks like claimed territory to me. I'm not Italian but sometimes, to the chagrin of our Transit Inspectors, I put C1A0 in the front window/runbox of my bus...the riders love to see it. Alf

Re: Introducing Va Bene

Ciao Alf! I just watched your interview with Jeff; I had tried to view it a while back but it wasn't streaming right. Nice to meet you! Does the C1AO signify a route for your bus or do you just like to make your riders smile?

Last night our 13 year old son Ryan had a sleep-over in the trailer. Curtis was up at 3:30 AM and still heard some noise out there. They must have been up most of the night as it's now 11:51 AM and not a peep from the trailer yet !

Very nice. I'm sure you'll get a lot of use out of her. Who's the cutie on the lower bunk?

Re: Introducing Va Bene

The cutie on the lower bunk is Edmund, a Lhasa Apso, named after Sir Edmund Hillary. We adopted him when he was 4, after his owner had a baby, and he couldn't adjust to not being the baby anymore . He came with the name so we kept it (even though it's my father-in-laws name, no less).
