Mystery Solved!

Sarah wrote back today to tell me that they have been emailing photos to me since Aug 14. And yet I haven't seen them. They went to the email address on my build sheet, while the email she responded to came from a different email.

The email on build sheet goes to an account that is supposed to forward to my primary email account. I logged onto it to see what was going on. For some reason, that account stopped forwarding emails on June 14. I have not seen any email to that account after that time. I now have my photos and am delighted to share some of them with you.

I'm surprised how different the laminate on the table and sink appear in the last photo. It's not obvious to me that the lighting is different enough to cause that.

You don't know the half of it, Jim. I have about 40 email addresses. 25 are "disposable" addresses provided by Yahoo so I don't have to use one of my usual addresses on dodgy things like forums . Yahoo automatically forwards mail to the disposables, but I have to manage the others.

What color did you choose for your laminate?

My build sheet specifies "Navy Graphix 7018-58". I expected it to be more subdued than this , but I like it.

Sometimes they use a really bright work light and that reflects off the inside of the trailer.

Well ..... I ordered a 17 but when I showed up for pickup, they hooked me up with a really nice 5.0TA with beautiful blue counter tops. I thought it would be too embarrassing and impolite to say anything .... so I just drove off ... and while waving "Good Bye" thanked them!

Ahhhh my new address: Somewhere in Mexico

I'm heading north to get my trailer on Sep 7. I live in Houston and am hoping my wife will still be able to fly out on Sep 6. Harvey should be gone by then, but the after-Harvey-party will last for months. My house is fine so far, but my son's house is at risk.

At DW's insistence, I got out of town the day before Harvey.

Here are the final photos of "Jackie's Escape".

The flooding in Houston is truly devastating. Best wishes to you and yours Rich, and to all our fellow Texans who were affected.

Two Hurricane Harvey direct hit stories bring it close to home: 1) Longtime family friends living in Rockport, TX, just happened to be serving as campground hosts in southern Colorado when Harvey hit. They don't know yet if they have a home (recently remodeled) to return to. Thankful to have their motorhome. 2) Just two months ago, a close colleague moved from Alabama to Aransas Pass, TX. Quickly evacuated to San Antonio. She is safe, but fears all her belongings that we helped her pack in the moving van just a few months back are now history. Be safe, Texas....
