Ordering fabric from Sailrite

For those who have ordered custom fabric from Sailrite, did you ship directly from Sailrite to ETI, or did you ship to yourself first? I thought I remembered someone mentioning that shipping direct from Sailrite to ETI was a problem for some reason, but I can't seem to find the thread.

Thanks so much!!

Well I just did it, so I hope it wasn't an issue. Placed my order about 2 hours ago.

I seem to remember mention of a duty that they had to pay if shipped from the US, but not clear on the details.

Waiting for 8 samples of Geobella fabric from Sailrite. After seeing Dave & Kathy's 21 w/Mai Tai Daisy, I was impressed with the quality & durability aspect of the fabric.

Just an FYI. I had our Sunbrella fabric shipped from Sailrite to me and I am glad that I did. There were many flaws in the 9 yard piece. I was able to work with their customer service who then shipped us (at our cost) a 4 yard replacement piece of fabric. I'm not sure what would have happened if I had just had it shipped directly to Escape.

Good to know Liz. I'll have Kim take a look at it once it arrives. By the way, we had to get almost 17 yards. Repeating pattern.

We had our Sailrite order shipped directly to ETI. It's a solid color so less chance of error. No negative feedback as yet.

Hey Jaime,
I ordered mine and shipped from Sailrite and it arrived at Customs 7 days later than scheduled (they stated fabric would arrive at ETI 18th )arrived 25th at ETI.I also waited longer than I should have to place order so I was not prepared for this delay.Sailrite folks were helpful and pleasant and I would use them again.
Good luck…what color fabric dd you select

Thanks Ross. Nice meeting you in Osoyoos! We shipped directly to ETI from Sailrite. No problem. We did have to pay an extra duty fee of some kind (about $45). Also ETI 's upholsterer asks for 10.5 yds if there is a repeat in the pattern. We sent 11 yds and got about 4 yds back, which is a significant amount! Otherwise it was a smooth process.

Thanks to all for the help! We are ordering a non-repeating pattern, so we'll roll the dice and ship direct to ETI

We selected Sunbrella Dupione Deep Sea -- a bit bold, but hopefully fun!

Is the fabric from Sailrite interior or boat?

They carry a large selection of fabric. Dave insisted that we get outdoor quality fabric (stain, mildew, fade resistent). Sunbrella is a popular brand (we chose a Geobella fabric by Phifer). It's a nice website, Kim at ETI recommended them. They have videos of almost all their fabrics which help you see what they look like in real life.

JaimeA, love your choice, it was in my top 3!
