Ron&Jeans 19 ft Escape "Leap of Faith"

Here are a couple of photos of our camper that we picked up in Toronto on July 3rd.Ordered it back in February and paid for our trailer sight unseen. All that I knew of this camper I got from YOU and the Escape website.I can honestly say that this trailer exceeded our expectations. The quality, fit and finish are impressive. It was a pleasure dealing with Tammy and Reace and more honest people would be hard to find.
The double insulation and air conditioning have come in handy for our last 2 trips in 85 degree heat.It will serve us well this winter as we vacation in Florida.

I would like to hear about the "we picked up in Toronto " portion of your purchase. How was this arranged?

Re: Ron&Jeans 19 ft Escape "Leap of Faith"

As for the shipping.Tammy was able to arrange for our unit to be shipped with a batch of Trilliums being shipped East.
We probably could tow it with my brothers Harley but use a GMC Safari van instead. We purchased the Equalizer hitch from Escape and could not be happier with how it tows.I am sure I could get by without it but will say that it tows more smoothly than the 13 foot Uhaul that the Escape replaced.
The reason to pick the trailer up in Canada was to avoid the Brokers fee.The only taxes I paid on the trailer were when I registered with my BMV in Ohio.Just make sure the invoice shows what you paid in American and Canadian or they will try and tax you at the current exchange rate which may not be as low as when you paid for it.I paid for mine months in advance to take advantage of the favorable rates early in the year.
Tammy will supply you with all that you need and hold your hand every step of the way.

Re: Ron&Jeans 19 ft Escape "Leap of Faith"

Do you mean this group of trailers?Mine is the last one on the trailer and arrived without a scratch.I never heard of the Bolerama so I doubt we will attend.I guess if I had to give it a name I would call it Leap of Faith.

Re: Ron&Jeans 19 ft Escape "Leap of Faith"

Hi: Ronald... WOW!!! Thats some trail of trailers...Yepper all of the 13'ers were at Bolerama and so was Tom Young. Bolerama is a fiberglass rally held each July at Emily Provincial Park Omemee Ontario Canada. This year there were 136 fiberglass "EGGS" in the park and several from Ohio. You'll have to come up next year to join us. Its a GREAT TIME!!! Alf
escape artist N.S. of Lake Erie p.s. thanks for posting that pic. p.p.s. There was even a 13' UHaul there this year.

Re: Ron&Jeans 19 ft Escape "Leap of Faith"

I just cannot wait to get my 17'B..... The wait is already now bad, and I just ordered last Thursday/Friday... Bolerama sounds like lots of fun, hmmm. Something to consider for 2010.

Thanks for sharing this great shots!

Gerda, the wait for me was not quite that long, but was still over the winter. It does seems long, but it is worth the wait.

Re: Ron&Jeans 19 ft Escape "Leap of Faith"

The wait for us was magnified by the fluctuation of the Canadian dollar. If I had paid in full shortly after I ordered I could have gotten the trailer for quite a bit less. The longer I waited the worse the exchange rate got.

Re: Ron&Jeans 19 ft Escape "Leap of Faith"

At least my wait is "shortened" by how busy I will be until 2010. And all the holidays, inclusive a visit to my family back in Germany over Christmas... 8)

A few more photos. This bed is HUGE.After sleeping in a 13 ft Uhaul for the past 7 years the queen bed is truly living in the lap of luxury.

But Ron, you have your heads at the wrong end of the trailer.

Re: Ron&Jeans 19 ft Escape "Leap of Faith"

It only appears that the head is at the wrong end.If you look at the facts you will see that it is really the only way to go.Because my head is next to the counter space I can reach my water in the middle of the night.I can also plug in the coffee pot with a snap of my wrist as it sits on the counter next to the plug near my head. The TV is also mounted on the wall next to the refrigerator so it is easier to view from the door side. Not to mention that I can leave the protected widow open at my head on a rainy day.

Re: Ron&Jeans 19 ft Escape "Leap of Faith"

We sleep with our heads at that side of the trailer too because I keep the little flip up counter always up (too difficult to put down with the thick cushions and our foam topper)
And yes with the awning you can have the window open and a bit of rain won't matter..

Re: Ron&Jeans 19 ft Escape "Leap of Faith"

I have a need to face the door of anywhere I sleep, same as sitting. Weird, I know. Besides, we have our TV mount and connections (if we ever use it that is) at the end of the cabinets, and instead will use a magazine rack/shelf mounted on the wall of the fridge for putting stuff down. We often have the same window open on rainy warmer evenings, though we have seen little rain on any outings so far with the 19, maybe 3 outta 35 so far.

Re: Ron&Jeans 19 ft Escape "Leap of Faith"

I had a request for a shot of the dining area so here it is in live in condition. The table is really kool as it slides left and right for easy seating.
