Here is our place in Prince George, BC. They managed to catch us at home which was rare when we didn't have any snow....

Doug,
Your garage door looks big enough to fit your Escape?

On a Mac, go to Utilities, and use Grab. Choose "Selection" under the Caption menu. It will produce a TIFF of what ever you select.

Unfortunately, I live on one of the few streets Street View doesn't lower itself to drive down...

I just did the screen capture and then cropped it in Preview.

As for operating systems, we are not to talk religion on this forum.

It is only religion for the Apple fanboys. For the rest of us, just a tool.

Street view is panoramic. The panorama is projected (drawn) onto a flat screen which can distort the image. Panoramic pictures have different options for display.

option 1 - the panorama is displayed using the source equirectangular image. This has fish-eye-like distortion, with horizontal straight lines looking 'curved away' for the center of the image.

option 2 - the panorama is wrapped onto a virtual sphere and should look 'correct' but requires more image processing on the client side.

The display option type is automatically selected based on the characteristics of the computer showing the street view. In other words, because of your display, you cannot see the panoramic photo 'undistorted', although zooming will reduce the distortion effect for a certain part of the image.

Hi Jim that was our old house in Prince George, garage was huge (10' door) we could probably put 2 of them in. Our new garage in southern Alberta, not so much.

That depends on the level of interest and degree of change in the location. There are major street intersections in Edmonton for which Google offers several vintages of Street View (they save them all now so you can go back in time), but our street has never been covered.

Checked google and found my view was when I had my Casita and my Dodge Dakota. Spooky and big brotherish, but amusing.

I don't see many trailers with covers on them.

No, but some people have said that the trailer was there temporarily, and some others might be as well. Many people can't keep a trailer in their front driveway long-term, and when they are in the back somewhere they usually don't get seen in Street View.

OK Not our Escape, since the 19 is still sitting at ETI waiting for us to pick it up.
I checked and they updated our street view and caught "Buttercup" sitting out front.

Nice trailer, Ian.
This part is hilarious: Buttercup's wheel area is blurred, suggesting that Google's automated image-processing software thought the wheel was a face!
(For Canada, faces are blurred to be unrecognizable in all Street View images, as are license plates)

District of North Vancouver Bylaw says trailer must be in an enclosed structure or in the back yard. I have neither a garage or access to my back yard ( no lane ).
Bylaw also says somebody has to complain and they have to live within ( I think 200 or 500 meters ). Moral of the story is don't rile the neighbours.

Our trailer is not supposed to sit in our front drive, or anywhere ahead of the front elevation of the house, for more than 3 days. Ours stays there all summer when not in use though, as we are slightly lower than the neighbour it is beside, so nobody cares or complains. It sure would be a pain in the ass if we had to keep it at our storage spot during camping months.

I can look at 3 different Street Views from years past. One was before our front addition, one during the work, and one after. Turns out to be a good documentary on the work done.

Jim, living in the same city as you we know the bylaws, although our neighbours are good we have a retirement complex down the block and a number of the residents often walk down our street. Funny thing is we never saw bylaw before it was built but now any slight infraction (tree branches encroaching on sidewalk, trailers parked for more that 3 days, etc) bylaw is around
