19' Specifications

I am trying to find dimensions for the 19', being in the development stages I can understand they are probably not exact, maybe they are not even "guessable". Any thoughts out there?

I looked at the specifications for the 17' and was struck by the height. Exactly 8'. Does this include fan covers. Hey those of you with 17' do not go out and measure them, it may not be relevant anyway.

Re: 19' Specifications

I would be stoked if it would fit in my 8'-0" high garage door, but I am not holding my breath.

Re: 19' Specifications

That funny, my garage door is 8' as well. I remember getting a reply on the Casita forum to a similar message. Casita sold a pair of wheels, that once installed, reduced the height of your trailer to fit into an 8' opening. Another possibility would be rims without tires, might be a tad hard to move around.

At any rate, this may only be a pipe dream.

And less than a pipe dream for me! For some reason my husband reserves the garage for boats, which are meant to get wet!!

Re: 19' Specifications

Now that a production model is available I would like to resurrect this question. What is the height of an Escape 19?

Re: 19' Specifications

I suspect it's over 8' - my 17' is (I think) 8'2" tall (with the small vent). I understand that the 19' is at least 6" taller. At least there is more headroom inside.

Re: 19' Specifications

The "official" specification sheet I received today from Tammy states the total height as 8' – 6”

I take it that doesn't include the air conditioner.

We're thinking of getting a carport, but not sure what the total height of the trailer will be. Does anyone know what the total height of a 19' is with AC & solar panels?

Randy, I believe our 2017 21' would have been 8' 6" without A/C but ended up being 9' 1" with A/C. The photos below show you how it fits under a 26' long x 18' wide car port with 9' sidewalls. If we were to do it again, we'd make it 20' wide to more easily fit our fishing boat under there, too. For the record, the roof-mounted solar panel still gets enough sun to keep the on-board 12V battery topped off. I know you're talking a different trailer, but I hope that helps some.

The height of the 19’ Escape is 8’6” and with the Air Conditioner, which adds 6 more inches, it will be about 9’2”. The MaxxFan is lower than the Air Conditioner, as long as it’s closed.

This was directly from ETI.

The solar panels are well below the height of the air conditioner, so if you have an air conditioner the solar panels don't make any difference to the overall height.

Height from the ground to the top of:
-Air Conditioner 108" (2.74m)
-Jack Antenna 105" (2.67m)
-MaxxAir Vent 102" (2.59m) WHEN CLOSED. Taller when open.
-Fiberglass Roof 96" (2.44m)

Height will vary depending on driveway slope/angles (think teeter-totter), loading of the trailer, etc.

If you are building covered parking, you may want much taller than the Escape so that you can do something at the roof.

Make the carport roof at least 2'-3' taller than you THINK you need. Don't have regrets

The air conditioner adds 10 inches to the height. A 19' is 102 inches without the a/c and is 112 inches with the a/c. We were going to include the high lift axle option on our order until I did some measurements on our workshop. It would fit with the high lift but just barely so we decided that the high lift axle option was not as important to us as safely getting our trailer into our work shop. For us - inside storage was more important. Also, the high lift axle adds 2 5/8 inches to the overall height. These numbers were provided to me during discussions with ETI.

19 height

Our 2010 19 classic with solar panel and air and 14 inch rims was 9 feet , 4 inches. Fit easily under a ten foot opening in our building the 21 is a couple inches taller. Don't forget that a dead flat approach to the opening is preferable to an incline, especially a steep one.

We have the new style 19 and to fit it in the garage we had to raise our door opening. The tallest door we could fit on our garage without major structural surgery was 9 feet. We made the opening as high as we could and the door opening ended up being exactly 9 feet high, before the weather strip went on. We also have a very flat approach. Here's a picture of our first time backing in. The tanks and trailer were empty and the tires fully inflated. (With the weather strip now installed the rubber is pushed up by the AC as it goes past.)

Things may be different now, but at the time we ordered Tammy assured me it would fit in a 9 foot door, and she was right, but just barely.

Wow, very close. ETI told me the a/c on our yet to be built 2018 adds 10 inches to the height but I am wondering if I was misinformed since they are going to use the same a/c as on the 2017 and yours fits a 9 foot door. My building door is 10 feet and, when using the figures given to me by ETI, I would have been within a few inches of the top. Not as close as your photo shows but - close enough for me to drop the high lift axle option on our Build Sheet. It looks to me like I will have plenty of room - not going to revisit the high lift though.

I have been very pleased with the purchase process so far and do believe I will be very happy with our Escape 19 but it is frustrating that something such as trailer height with and without options (for classic and new style) is not solidly nailed down by ETI so customers can make informed decisions. I believe your photo more than I believe the specs I was given - I have heard nothing to indicate the specs for a 2017 would be different from the specs for a 2018.
