2018 Escape 5.0 For Sale
For a number of reasons (my pacemaker being one) we have decided to sell our Escape 5.0.
Items we’ve added:
- Three 100 Watt Renogy panels on roof for a theoretical 465 watts
- Victron 100/30 solar controller
- SAE port for a portable panel
- Victron BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor
- 260 ah Soneil SiO2 batteries
- GoWise Power 1,500 watt inverter powering the kitchen outlet, wired with 2/0 cables
- New Goodyear Endurance tires installed on Sept 26, 2022, less than 400 miles on the tires
- Dickinson stove top with butcher block cover (Dickinson insert cover included)
- High arc faucet
- Houzer E-100 sink
- Kohler K-8799-BN Duostrainer Sink Strainer, Vibrant Brushed Nickel
- Dragonfire countertops (main counter and entryway) and kitchen backsplash
- Butcher block flip up countertop next to sink/entry door
- Blue Seas 4 position battery shutoff/selector
- Blue Seas T Fuse holder and 250 amp fuse
- New board and voltage regulator for MaxxFan
- 100% Natural Organic Latex mattress with hypo-allergenic wool cover
- 3 large and 1 shallow Elfa basket drawers in pantry and 1 shallow Elfa drawer underneath stovetop
- Opened the top bedroom step for additional storage and replaced the old carpet with new/improved berber carpet
- Teak hand rail from bed area
- Furnace duct changed from flexible to solid round for better airflow
- RV Lock - digital door lock, no key needed
- Seaflo water accumulator
- Oxygenics brushed nickel shower head
- Teak bathroom floor
- Sand pads for stabilizer jacks
- Custom 9" tall jack pads
- Andersen 5th wheel hitch
I don’t even want to think of the time and effort spent to install these items.
Our 5.0 was one of Escape’s runner’s up in the 2021 “ Aftermarket Modifications” category. However, a 100% Natural Organic Latex mattress with wool cover was purchased instead, because Sleep Number could not promise us a camper mattress until June and we needed one in January. We have a Sleep Number bed at home and the latex mattress provides a superior sleep and needs no electricity.
I have documented the solar install in the Adding 300 Watts Solar To Our 5.0 thread.
Major ETI Installed Items:
- 170 watt GoPower solar panel
- Awning windows
- Carefree Manual Awning
- High lift axle
- Aluminum Rims
- U-Shaped 22” dinette with split opening, seat and 4” back cushions, with filler cushions and boards for the center area
- Table was never installed, but will be included with the mounts and posts
- USB/12v ports on each side of the bed area, next to entry door, in the dinette area, and outside USB/12v port next to entry door
- Foot flush toilet with shutoff
- Removable power cord
- EMS built in
- Propane quick connect
- Heat pads with foam insulation
- 4 additional captains reading lamps
- Reinforced bathroom wall
We are the original owners and I have attached the ETI build sheet that lists many other items not listed here.
I will consider delivery.
More pictures will be available in the next couple of days.
For more information please PM me for my phone number.
$48,000.
Thanks,
Perry Butler

Understand your reasons for selling and I'm so sad you had to make this decision and yes it will also come to me some time in the future hopefully not too soon. You have had so many helpful posts and I'm hoping even after your sale you will continue to help the Escape community with all your experience.

I always thought a pacemaker enabled one to lead a somewhat normal life, I have the big "C" but until I can no longer drive, I'm going camping..... . One another note, I love what you did inside....Good luck!

I hope everything is okay and that you will still hang around the forum.
Good luck with the sale, it should go quickly.

This is a very lovely 5.0 and I'm sure difficult to part with. I wish we were a bit closer to the time we could make an offer, but are a couple years out. Best wishes to you!

OH, Sorry to hear of it. My Brother In Law had one put in 2 yrs ago. Had some major problems with getting his Meds balanced out. But, is fine now & drives their class B around. But, I do know about, backing down & out on a MAJOR interest, because of age, & what you can safely do. I too do hope your keep posting. I would have grabbed at it. but do want to stay with Bumper pulls.

Hi Perry,
I've enjoyed many of your posts here & learned a lot from your thoughtful input. You've clearly put your heart & soul into your 5.0 in addition to much thought & countless hours of work. And your enthusiasm for your camping experiences moved me to add several spots to my bucket list. I wish you both all the best, & thank you for your contribution to the wonderful hive mind here.

What a bargain!
If we hadn’t already customized ours so much I’d be snagging this. Your mod description reads like my “to-do” list for the next few years.
I hope you stick around to share your insights from building such a nice trailer. I’m already jealous of the next owner. They are getting a real gem.

Hello Perry'
Thank for all your help on electrical wiring. Pace maker will help to regulate your heart rate, improve heart muscle contractility, and improve cardiac output. You will feel more energetic.
Good luck!

More photos can be seen at my Google Drive.
Today's additional photos show the Efla baskets, steps to the bed, including the open top step, teak hand rail, various hooks, lower cabinet door at entry area, moveable paper towel area, and three of the five locatios of USB ports.
Today or tomorrow I'll go down to the camper and add u-shaped dinette pictures, and the electrial wiring additions. In the past 24 hours we've gotten 8" of snow and it's still snowing.
I'll be adding all new pictures to this folder.
Thanks,
Perry

The fast pace of life!!!
Hi: Perry Butler... I bought our first fiberglass trailer as a lite project while awaiting my first pacemaker. After 11 yrs on my first... I'm now on my second pacemaker w/ 4 yrs of battery left on it, and I'm on my third fiberglass trailer too.
The Canadian medical system might be slow... but at least when the chips are down they come through!!! Alf

Hey Alf, you're not referring the chips Dave refers to in his fish and chips story are you?
Perry, sorry to see you're selling your 5.0TA. Won't soon forget our visit at your site on the river in September.
