We will be there this year, our first time to Quartzsite. Plan on arriving early Thursday afternoon and staying until Sunday. We are looking forward to it!

For anyone interested in some photos of the Quartzsite gatherings, here are some from 2014 and 2016.

See you there!

great pics...interesting as it looked a lot less crowded than some other Quartzsite gatherings....also looks like one of those bring your own shade gatherings and rattlers are provided free...
one pic in the 2016 group wide angle ...had to do a double take as it looks like there are two identical BIG Bigfoot's pulled by identical Ram trucks...also looks like there are several Escape 5th wheel trailers.
thanks for posting the links....

The trouble with Quartzsite is that it is so darn far! Even Chicago to Dallas is not nearly as far as Dallas to Quartzsite. The distances in the Southwest and West are so much farther than they oughta be!!

According to Google it's only 1879 mi. From Vancouver it's 2358 mi.

Still, only about 2 of Jim's driving days.

Last I looked, It's only 148 mi. If you're in Phoenix.
It is a long trip for some and it's truly amazing the list of states and provinces that attended the gathering last year.
We hope you can make the trip sometime and looking forward to seeing everyone there this year.

I have a question about obtaining the BLM permit. We will be coming from Phoenix and will take exit 17 to Dome Rock Rd. Will we arrive at the BLM camp host site before we arrive at the gathering? Can we drive to the gathering area and get set up, and then drive back to get the permit? Thanks.

Assuming the host is in the same location as in 2014 & 2016, you will see a trailer with an American flag on Dome Rock Road on your right about 1/3 of the way between Exit 17 & the Dome Rock Rally area.

There is no problem setting up & then getting your permit. In fact, there are lots of times the host is "closed" & you can't get the permit for a couple of days after you set up.

And then there are some that don't get round to it at all. But since it's free, why not, but don't worry if you're set up and haven't gotten it yet. Easy to stop in and get it on your way to town.

Do folks stay later then the posted dates? We could possible make it about the 12th for a few days. Is it worth the 4 hr drive from Tucson to show up late?

Absolutely worth the 4 hour drive from Tucson, but I'm biased.
You can stay in that location on BLM land for no charge for up to 14 days and folks arrive prior to and stay past the dates so there are always some around.
Love to have you join us this year.

Last year I arrived at Quartzsite November 17th (and set up in the Long Term Visitor Area at La Post West), moved to Dome Rock on February 1st, stayed for 14 days, then on to the LTVA at Imperial Dam, CA for a week before starting back East. 93 days of dry camping (with the exception of two days at Scamp Camp in Sedona). Total cost $180.00 for the winter (not counting Sedona).

I highly recommend trying a winter in the desert - I'm slowly heading back to Quartzsite as I'm typing. Texas tomorrow; 1754 miles & 2 weeks so far.

Thanks Greg. Doing this trip pretty free form, won't really know if we will be there till we see when we get to AZ. Have reservations at Catalina, Lost Dutchman, and Usery Mt I need to work around.

It's here!

The 2016 10 year Anniversary Quartzsite Gathering Button or as our friends to the North call it a Pin.

Big shout out to Jon Vermilye who graciously provided the photo he took at the campfire concert at last years Quartzsite Gathering. Thanks, Jon!! Also, to Earl A who produces our buttons/pins and works with us to select the photo and bring it all together. We'll be producing 300 of these commemorative buttons that will be issued at registration first come, first served until we run out. Apologies to anyone that doesn't get one, but that would mean the desert at Quartzsite, AZ is major loaded with molded fiberglass trailers.

Yup, I want a Pin.

We're going to Baja first but this gives us extra motivation to get back there in time.

Thanks for the photo Jon, especially since I'm in it and thanks for all your efforts Greg putting it all together.

Ron,
Glad to hear you are going to make it back this year. I'll make sure your Pin is waiting.
I'm making some changes this year to free more of my time up so I can get around and visit with people and see their trailers, as last year we got unexpectedly crazy with all the folks that showed up.
Look forward to having some time to look over your mods and visit.
