While there are some nice sites down near or at the water, you deal with the wind a lot more, there are more bugs, and it is further away from most activities. Still, not all that far either.

Being a social butterfly (no comments from the peanut gallery please), I like to be in the thick of things for the rally. Otherwise when camping on our own being away from activity areas is our thing.
Thanks for the words from experience. I'm leaning toward asking to have a site in the "thick of things" as you mentioned because we will be there because it is a rally.

Yes, Jim B in his tutu is a sight to be seen........... , just kidding.I always try to be in the middle, those down by the water seem to always regret it. That said, having your name tag with both your screen name and alias is a nice way to start a conversation.

Question: Do people leave on Sunday the 27th, or are there activities and people stay the night on Sunday and leave on Monday?

I was thinking we would arrive Thursday the 24th and leave on Sunday. (3 nights)

The last official event is breakfast on Sunday. The first is the Friday wine tour (there was actually a Thursday in this past year due to the demand). Others come early and stay late. Never had too much fun, eh?

I've only been to the rally once. Back in 2015. Got to the park on Wednesday and left on Sunday. Had I known then, what I know now... I would have gotten there on Monday and left the following Monday. There is a LOT to see and do in the area. Once everyone shows up, you don't want to leave the park. Visiting with people was the prime reason for going. But, I missed touring the valley and seeing "what's out there."

As is said, you may never pass this way again. See and do... make memories!

I try to arrive early and leave early, Tuesday afternoon arrive and leave Sunday before breakfast since we have 3x 10 hour long days of driving coming and going. This year, Monday is a holiday so traffic will be lighter.
