Does anyone know the dates for this years Mississippi River Rendevous and in which campground loop at Thomson Causeway should we be reserving a site ?
The reservation window opens for September this month and we want to reserve a site ASAP

Hi Steve
I’ve been wondering the same thing. hey Paul, you got your ears on as they used to say in the old CB Radio days? We need a little guidance on the loop selection and dates for sure. I was looking at that upper loop and there are significantly fewer sites up in the end of the loop than in the one we’ve been using. They are nice though. Please post shortly or Steve and I will have to Reserve a site in both loops . Thanks and have a great day. Steve Let’s see what I get with that gob of worms on the end of my line, logical dates
would be the last week in September I think.

I sent a PM to Paul ( Fudge Brownie) last week but to date have not received a response.
Hopefully he will respond to your inquiry
If the Mississippi River Rendevous keeps growing as I suspect it will , we will fill both loops in the near future .

Paul, aka fudgebrownie, may be out of touch

He was fixing on lighting out of the snowy Midwest for the Sunshine state last month, so he may be hard to reach.

We're driving through Janesville tomorrow, could stop and see if Paul is at home.

We are awaiting a clarification on whether sites we want are reservable or not. It appears one can reserve online but the website for Thomson Causeway says they are non reservable. Bear with us until it can be confirmed.

Thanks to Steve and Dave for finding this and getting clarification.

If it came from Thompson that bug is a mosquito about the size of an F-84.

All I know is I plan to fight fire with fire, I went out and bought 3 cases of Corona beer and plan on drinking at least 4 bottles a day for 18 days to keep the bug away......

The sixth annual Mississippi River Rendezvous will continue its tradition of meeting on the banks of the “Big Muddy”. This year the dates are September 25-27.

Thomson Causeway, near Thomson Illinois will again be the location.

Here are the loops in order of preference and the abbreviation. Both loops are within walking distance of each other and the center of evening activities, Stone Shelter.

Site Numbers--- Loop Abbreviation*

29-78--- PMAN
1-28--- PMAS

You are welcome to arrive early and stay late. Rest assured there will be other owners doing the same. The booking window opens 6 months before your arrival.

When booking your site ignore mention on the web site that one of the mentioned loops above is non- reservable. It is reservable. Also, there is a new policy in place that weekends require a 2 night minimum.

*After flooding during last year’s rally we have decided to seek higher ground, these loops represent a change.

We booked site 64 for the Mississippi Rally.

We are looking forward to our 3rd Mississippi Rally Our first was as spectators in 2018, in which we were warmly welcomed by a very hospitable group. That rally was followed by us placing our order for our "Sweet Suite".

Hi Ronn and Colleen,
Looking forward to it. Make sure you stop by for a libation carbonated or otherwise. We were down there a couple weeks looking around and saw tons of great migratory waterfowl. Some Shovelers and lots of Bufflehead.

Hi Steven

We made our reservations for the Mississippi River Rendevous on Tuesday
We are optimistic that come September we will again be able to visit with all the wonderful people that attend this gathering .
Looking at the large number of sites that have already been reserved, it is clear that many others feel the same way.
See you in September !!

Reserved 1st thing this AM

Snagged site 43, and will keep an eye on Iowa Dave to refrain him from getting into big trouble. Only 180 days away. Thoer & Leon also booked today, so I may have back-up in my supervision duties.
