2020, Oct 1-4: Fall NOG - Northern Oregon Gathering

The majority have spoken! Everyone wants to go back to the beach. The Fall NOG is once again headed to Nehalem Bay State Park (Manzanita area). 95 miles west of Portland on Hwy 101. The NOG was last there in the fall of 2016.

Once you make reservations (or have questions) feel free to post here, the CasitaForum, FiberglassRV or the Oregon Gatherings Facebook group... please post just once.

Nehalem Bay State Park rates are $31 for electric & water per day. Make reservations through ReserveAmerica or call ReserveAmerica at 1-800-452-5687 (during regular business hours).

Check out the site pics http://www.campsitephotos.com/campgr...Bay-State-Park

IF you want a Yurt, there's some nice ones in A Loop (two are pet friendly). There's also a kid's play structure in B loop.

I'll try to get the meeting hall reserved for both Friday and Saturday nights. Can't do that until Jan. 2. I'll update this post once that's done.

As usual, I'll keep a park map updated and a list of participants going for those that have made reservations on the CasitaForum. I've chosen site A14.

Be sure to let us know if you're newbies to egg gatherings and everyone start planning/making your name tags.

We'll fill in details about the doin's when we get closer to October.

Ready, Set, GO!

Is there any type of registration for the event we need to fill out?

Cool, it will be nice to meet you both. No, no registration. I'll be posting the Schedule, such as it is, mid-September.

Fun times ahead!

site A29

Hi Donna
We're planning to be in Oregon at that time so thought it would be fun to come to the Gathering. Thanks for organizing. We're coming on Friday evening and leaving on Monday.

Registered b33

I am a new Escape 17b owner. I have just registered for site B 33. All the a sites are full but it looks like I am near a couple of other Escape trailers. I attended the Nog last fall in my 26 foot class c rv, and I'm now an Escape owner.
I have also scheduled for Fort Casey and Osoyoos. Overkill? Or maybe it will take me time to learn how to get the best out of my little 17b, named Hygge.

Hi Jinny, welcome! I remember you well from the last fall NOG, I showed you my 19 foot. You made a great decision buying an Escape, you will love it.

Thanks. I hope you have gotten your $200 from Escape. I gave them your card. I really wanted a 19 foot but was strongly and courage to get a 17 foot because of having a Honda Pilot to pull it. I look forward to seeing you. Will you be at Fort Casey or Osoyoos?

I'm monitoring the Oregon State Park system and watching the alerts for the Linn County Parks. I'm going to assume, if the Oregon State Parks close so will the Linn County Parks.

Why am I waiting to cancel the Spring NOG? Because if the parks close, you should be fully refunded without penalty of a self-cancellation.

However, you are free to cancel on your own at anytime. Just as normal.

What's interesting to note is both sites cancelled by NOGgers were quickly snapped up by other NOGgers. I guess we're all thinking positively!

More later. Be safe, be well.

We're now one month from Fall NOG. I've just updated the participants list and map. Although I haven't heard from our Canadian friends, I've deleted them from the list due to the border closure. Hope they can make it to a future NOG.

Due to current conditions we will NOT be having any of our usual activities (Dinner on a Stick, Beer Exchange, Pot Luck, trailer tours, etc.). We will be practicing social distancing and mask wearing out of respect for everyone and various health issues.

I'm asking that everyone wear a name tag! When people are away from their site, we won't know if they're part of our group and we want to be as welcoming as possible under these circumstances. Displaying a site sign with your info is also encouraged.

Please note that not all restrooms and shower facilities will be open and operating or possibly they will have reduced hours which haven't been announced. Be prepared.

Lastly. Please pack sun! The NOGs are always a lot of fun no matter what the weather. But it sure is nice to walk or be on the beach when it's not raining. Because of social distancing we won't be able to congregate under participants site shelters.

Stay safe. Stay well. Safe travels. See y'all in a month!

Okay group. I have a site that's ready to be cancelled for Fall NOG. But the site holder doesn't want to cancel it, if someone else would like to have it.

Anybody? Anybody?

Let me know, otherwise it will cancel by Sept 16.
