Oh, man, that's just the trip of a lifetime! A mere 3,782 towing miles from my house. That's probably about 10-11 6 hour travel days, assuming I was not tempted to take side trips through the most amazing land on the planet. (Never happen.) I look at the map and there's Sweet Grass on the Canadian border (bring your Covid shots verification), and Red Deer, Crooked Creek, Pink Mountain, etc etc. How do you prepare for such an adventure?

Definitely going at some point. I do wonder what extra things people carry for such a trip. I’d ideally want to have an extra spare for both truck and camper. I once drove more than 100 miles on Dalton Hwy to Wiseman with my only spare already on the vehicle and found that single spare is unwise

Speaking of spare tires, owners of Ram1500 beware, your spare will not allow you to continue to tow.......check the size and specs of your spare.

Hi AIN: We are very interested in heading to Alaska sometime too! Yes, can you notify us also if there is a rally in 2022? We traveled across country this year to PA so have had enough adventures for this year (2021)! Hope you will repeat this rally again… L&F

Interesting but disappointing news about Denali NP for those heading there in 2022…

More importantly, hope your mosquito prevention works. Having been in Alaska in June (mid), the biggest menace was the major league mosquitos. I’d be hesitant to return to Alaska in June just for that reason.

Spent a lot of summers in Seward when we lived in the bush. Had friends with sailboats to cruise, and had a place to stay out by Bear Lake as well as a piece of land in town overlooking the bay. Spent a few Christmases there too. We decided to sell both eventually and move closer to family, but initially it was our retirement plan. Lots to do around there for tourist and backcountry / outdoors. Family is very important though.

Yes, the Denali Park Road will be shut down BUT there are other awesome ways to see the park and other amazing things to see in Alaska!

I wouldn't let the Denali road closure affect any Alaska plans.

We saw far more wildlife outside the park than in, including up close and personal grizzly bears.

The mountain view was totally obscured from inside the park but down the highway South there's a rest stop/overnight stay place with a great view of the mountain.
