2021 Pink Elephant Rally - NE Iowa May 7-9th

We just registered for the 2021 May 7-9 Pink Elephant Rally. It is not at the (IOWA) Pikes Peak State Park this year, I think due to renovation. It is at Volga River Recreation Area near Fayette IA.

You'll find more info here - https://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/...tml#post803208

Hope to see many of you this year, either at this rally or other ones.

We're there from Wednesday until Monday in site 25. Nice to know we won't be the only escapes there. Looking forward to seeing everybody there as we had signed up for last years COVID cancelled one.

Sure wish we could join you. But extremely doubtful the border will be open by then. As it is Beth is sort of stuck in KS (maybe we need a Wizard intervention) awaiting arrival of a grandchild very soon. She now can't fly home next month as planned. Our government has imposed international flights arriving only at four major airports then as of Feb. 22, not only have a negative test before flying into Canada but then having to have another on arrival and while awaiting results of that will be forced into hotel quarantine. So now we're looking at alternatives for return to Canada for her.

Adrian
What are the four cities and what is the shortest distance from where you live to that destination?
Is there rail service? Good luck to you guys and your daughter on the new baby. Saw the announcement on the St. Malo rally. Had fun at that one the time we went.

They are Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal, closest would be Calgary (1400km) but she'll be flying to Grand Forks ND just an hour south of us, then by road from there and perhaps walking over the border. She'll still have to quarantine at home (although there's a rumour that they'll do the same for flying in, ie. force you into a hotel) which we can easily do, one of us upstairs and the other down.

We'd never thought when we rushed home from GA last March that we'd still be dealing with this.

thanks

Thanks for your reply Adrian. i sure hope it all works out for you with a minimum of hassle. I knew that once this Pandemic got rolling it would have quite an effect on all of us but I could not start to guess all the details.

We just booked site 32, might have been the last remaining site in the modern campground. We'll be there in our Scamp 16, don't expect to have our Escape until late July.

Looks like all the reservable sites are gone. There are still walk in sites, but don't like to gamble.

It was nice of you to clue us in on the rally Ronn, but like many say hear, it’s all booked up. I just checked.
