2022, Sept. 29 - Oct 2: Fall NOG - Northern Oregon Gathering

Once again the NOG is returning to Fort Stevens on the Northern Oregon coast. The last time was Spring NOG 2019.

We're within a few days of the six month reservation window... or you can reserve NOW depending on the first day you plan to be in the park.

We'll start reserving in H and I and then L and M loops. These all have full-hookups. H Loop does NOT have showers, but does have a restroom. Loops M and L have a number of pull-through sites. I've chosen site H10. I'm in the park for eight nights and because of that I want a sewer hookup. IF I didn't, I'd be in either O or N loops. They're really big, nice flat sites! Keep that in mind.

I'll reserve Shelter A at the Coffenbury Lake area for Friday and Saturday. The same shelter used in 2019. There's plenty of parking, the restrooms are right next door. Additionally, there are lights, a few electric plugs, running water and a fire pit in the center of the shelter for the dinner-on-a-stick night (Friday). There are picnic tables in the shelter also. It'll cost $100 to reserve for the two nights. I'll also buy the necessary wood for the fire pit. These costs have already been covered with the prior passing of the hat!

Be sure to checkout everything the Oregon State Park system has to say about the park. Find the information here including reservation information:
https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index....ile&parkId=129

The brochure here will tell you site driveway length: https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index....b%29114020.pdf

AND, check out Campsite photos for a picture of the site you want: https://www.campsitephotos.com/campg...t-stevens-h001

I'll keep list of names going for those that have made reservations at the CasitaForum here: https://www.casitaforum.com/invboard...comment-313376. Because of the size of the park and being spread out, I won't be making a map of sites NOGgers have reserved.
Please post when you've got a site reserved. I'll need this info:
First name of adults attending
City, State where you live
Year/length/brand of trailer
Site number

Be sure to let us know if you're newbies to egg gatherings and everyone start planning/making your name tags.

Woohoo... Fun times ahead!

Donna, we moved our site to J200, Weds thru Sunday of Fall NOG. I think we're the only NOG people in J loop so far but it looks like a nice site and we can use the exercise of walking anyway :-)

Hi Donna - Does the $100 you mention covered by passing the hat around or is it a charge per individual, or is it $0 from a prior passing of the hat? Thanks.

There's no charge to attend a NOG. We pass the hat to cover expenses. That's how I was able to reserve the shelter and pay for it. We'll pass the hat again on Friday and Saturday nights. Call it Paying it Forward because that money will be used to reserve the shelter at the next NOG. IF every site we reserved for a NOG put $5-10 in the hat, it will cover all expenses.

Thanks for asking!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Hello NOGgers. We're coming up on Fall NOG! It's time to post the schedule.

Daytime hours are completely unscheduled. Feel free to do what you wish. There is plenty of things to do inside Fort Stevens State Park as well as the town of Astoria and the surrounding areas. Because the park is quite large and we're spread out, you may want to bring your bicycle. I'm bringing mine.

As far as trailer tours, nothing scheduled for that either. I know we have people participating because they want to view some trailers. If you see folks sitting outside, stop and chat and ask to see their trailer. It's always been up to each owner to decide whether or not they want to give tours.

DON'T FORGET TO BRING/WEAR A NAME TAG. There is nothing scheduled for gift give aways for this NOG. BUT, I'd really like to see everyone wear a name tag all weekend. I'm meeting some of you for the first time. Help me to remember your name, please.

FRIDAY NIGHT
No-host dinner-on-a-stick roasting fire going at Shelter A at the Coffenbury Lake area starting at 5pm. The same shelter used in 2019. There's plenty of parking, the restrooms are right next door. Additionally, there are lights, a few electric plugs, running water and the fire pit in the center of the shelter. There are picnic tables inside the shelter also. This is not a potluck, bring everything you need and plan to eat, including your own roasting stick. Fire will be roaring in the fire pit, come by anytime after 5:00pm. You may want to bring your lawn chair and sit outside the shelter, weather depending.

The fun/funny stuff:
CRAFT BEER EXCHANGE
6:00pm SHARP
FRIDAY NIGHT
This is an "opener" event.

Bring a six pack of craft beer... not CRAP beer ;-). Something from your local craft brewer would be grand. You will trade one bottle or can for a different kind. IF you show up at 6:05pm, you're four minutes too late! For those that don't know how this works, I'll explain everything shortly before 6:00pm.

SATURDAY NIGHT POTLUCK
Happening at the Shelter A at the Coffenbury Lake area. Serving of food will start SHARPLY at 5pm. Come a few minutes early to get your food on the table before serving starts. Bring an appetizer, entrée, salad or dessert to share that feeds 6-10 people and your table service and beverage. You may want to bring your lawn chair and sit outside the shelter, weather depending.

Please, no pets at any of the food events.

AND if everyone would remember to turn off ALL outdoor lights at bedtime, that would be grand. Many of your neighbors don't have room darkening shades. THANKS!

If you have any questions, please let me know. I'll try to get em answered.
