Mississippi River Rendezvous
No rally registration needed. Just determine your date of arrival and your site number from the map and register with the Corps of Engineers on the 6 month out date in March. There will be 30 or more Escapes and other fiberglass campers as well as folks in stick builts, sometimes tents and day trippers. You will meet, greet, grip and grin with seasoned veterans and rookies like me.
If you post what you’re interested in doing in the area or have questions do not hesitate to ask.
There’s potable water throughout the CG but not at every site. Fill your fresh water tank at one of these. The dump station is near the entry if you need to use it on your way in but there’s also a “decant” dump near the shower house if you have a rolling auxiliary tank or carry grey water in 5’s down there. Same goes for fresh water, bring a potable water container to recharge your fresh if you get low. (Or borrow one from me).
Everybody welcome. We’ve had folks from California, Texas,
Manitoba, New York and Penn’s Woods and many other states in between.

Looking forward to meeting all the men and ladies who will be attending. We’ve always had a good time at this rally. If you’re traveling with a dog, we welcome you to the dog parade. If no dog, get your lawn chair and line up at the reviewing site.
Having been in that area at that time of the year for about 25 years now, just ask if you need to find or buy something. Two good grocery stores across the river in Clinton.
To everyone. When you enter the park, pay real close attention to the speed limit signs. AND watch for turtles on the road.

Good to hear you’ll make and your sister too. Had fun at the get together with the bingo cards. Hopefully I’ll have some stuff to give away.
Have a great spring

Hello Paul, Janet, & All,
I'm planning a 4-month trip to Alaska, the Yukon & northern BC for the summer of 2024 starting with the Escape Rally in Osoyoos in May. The timing might be perfect for me to end the trip at the MRR in September. I know that you're just getting organized for the 2023 rally, but wondering if the dates for 2024 would likely be similar, 3 weeks after Labor Day, so September 20-22.
Thanks for any advance intelligence you might have.

We have been excited waiting for the day when booking became available only to learn a few days before that we have a family wedding to attend on that Saturday.
Maybe next year. ;(

The Mississippi River Rendezvous has traditionally been held on the last full weekend of September. That would put the 2024 rally September 27-29.

Real dates this year are September 22,23,24 ( Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
The confusion comes in with the next weekend’s Sunday being in October. In previous years the campground had closed on September 30. So the full weekend has floated back and forth depending upon how the calendar falls. Secondly, retired, returning campers at any rally often like to arrive as early as the Wednesday before and stay through Sunday night and leave on Monday. With the geezer pass it’s cheap good camping.
The Corps has modified their closing date on some Campgrounds over the years too. It’s a little confusing but any time you want arrive that week you’ll find a nice campground, with nice views and several things to do “on your own” if you’re so inclined. Wildlife viewing. Small town antiquing, even driving down the river to the Quad Cities with all they offer are possible. From arboretums, the Rock island Armory, Herbert Hoover birthplace and library, etc, your varied interests can be served.
