2024, Oct 3-6 Bay Area Rally (B.A.R.)

(Cross posted on Fiberglass Forum)

Greetings!

Just a quick reminder that our annual B.A.R. will be a week later this year, 3-6 Oct. I'm in contact with the County Parks Department who will let me know the exact day to make your reservations (they emphatically stressed six months to the day ... ). Last year we had a great turnout and we hope this year proves to be just as popular. Who knows, maybe we can fill up the entire campground with fiberglass trailers!

Anyway, we'll be back with more updates soon.

Jan and Birdie

Great! Looking forward to it, we had lots of fun last year.

I would guess six months out is coming up quickly!

We are now in the "window" to make reservations for the 2024 Bay Area Rally at Mt. Madonna County Park. There are still some RV sites available at the Valley View 1 area (electric and water) and just about all of the no-hookup sites at the Valley View 2&3 and the Tan Oak campgrounds. There is potable water and a dump station within the park and all sites may be occupied by a trailer as long as it fits (see Campsite Photos below). After touring some of the "non-electric" sites last year, we discovered that a number of sites get direct sun during the day which is great for solar. To see photos of the campsites, go to https://www.campsitephotos.com/campg...a-county-park/ (take a look at the photo of Campsite 101 to see the size of trailers that utilize the Tan Oak area).

Like last year, because of the limitations on the number of people allowed in any one campsite at any time, we have reserved the covered Azalea Knoll picnic area for some of our activities on Friday and Saturday.

If you are planning on attending, please PM me or Birdie (Bea) with your name, arrival/departure dates, site number and email. Hope you are able to join us!

Well... Those sites went fast!

We'll be on the "dark side" again this year. It's a good thing there are electrical hookups because no sun gets into that loop to feed the solar panels!

Jill, so great you can join us this year. So glad I remembered our PM from last year. Looking forward to meet you, too!

Many thanks to those who have replied here and those who have PM'd us. We can't wait to see you all again and hear about all your travels and see your new mods and to just hang out and play games together. I believe there are still some hook up sites left and plenty of non-hook up sites in loop 2 & 3. If you book a site, please let us know. Thanks so much!

Until then, safe travels,

Birdie (Bea) & Jan

Yes, that area of the park is well shaded. If we have a warm Fall, however, you'll be happy for the shade.

I managed to get site 101, the first one in the loop on the dark side. Last year we were in 102, so it’s kinda like home. Oct 3-6th.

Looking forward to it!

Just an FYI ... as of right now, there are five RV sites left at Mt. Madonna (Valley View 1) but there are plenty of non-electric sites in Tan Oak, Valley View 2 and 3. Also, if you've made reservations and haven't let us know your dates and site, please drop us a quick note. Thanks
Jan & Birdie

Is there an Open House?

Hi, I am considering buying an Escape Trailer and wanted to know if you are going to have an open house at this rally and would allow someone not camping with you to come by. I live in the SF Bay area.

I currently own an RV but I am looking for something new.

Hello - Yes, we usually plan a 'trailer tour' where participants open up their trailers for others to view. Last year, we had a few park staff who enjoyed looking through the trailers as well. I don't have the agenda quite yet but I can let you know the date/time closer to our rally. In the meantime, if you're interested in viewing an Escape trailer, contact the company and they can give you a list of 'ambassadors', people who would be willing to show you their trailer and answer any questions you might have. Or you can ask anyone on the Forum.

Thanks for contacting us,
Jan

Hi All -

Hard to believe that Summer is in our rearview mirror and Fall is just around the corner.* Where does the time go?* Just wanted to post a quick note that everything is on track for the Bay Area Rally (B.A.R.) 3-6 October and that we're anxious to see everyone. When you arrive on Thursday (or Friday), please check in with either Birdie or myself as we will have information for you regarding the agenda, name badges, etc. We're still working on the agenda but, for now, plan on:
1. An appetizer to share one night (probably Friday)
2. Your own drinks for dinners
3. Hot dog or ?? for our Saturday night "roast"
4. A small dessert to share for Saturday evening

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact either Birdie or Jan through the forum or email (we'll be sending out an email message with contact information).* If I don't have your email, through the forum is fine.

See you soon!
Birdie and Jan

Hi Jill,

Last year there were around 22 trailers and most trailers were 2 people/trailer. Most were Escape trailers with some Casitas, Scamps, Bigfoots and a couple others. This year is looking to be a great sequel with a similar number of wonderful, amazing, smart, fun, fiberglass campers!

For those who have reservations for the B.A.R this year at Mt Madonna and have NOT informed Jan or myself yet, please let us know soon. We are preparing and finalizing all the details now.

Thank you and see you soon!

Birdie & Jan
