Bullard's Beach, OR, July 2011
Hi Camping Buddies,
It's that time again.... Time to make camp site reservations for the 2011 Oregon Gathering! The dates are July 14-17 (Thursday – Sunday) at Bullard's Beach State Park. I recommend making reservations now if you are considering coming but are not sure if you can make it yet. You can always cancel your reservations later and get your money back (or sell your site to someone else) but it will be more difficult to get reservations later. Consider arriving early and staying late, if at all possible.
Early Reservation Directions:
Reservations can be made nine months (to the day) before a camping date and people can reserve a site for up to two weeks. If you want to arrive on Tuesday, July 12th, you can make your reservations tomorrow. If you want to arrive on July 14th then you need to wait until October 14th (this Thursday) to make your reservations. If you try to make your reservations too early, the online park reservations will tell you all the sites are full.
1. Pick Your Campsite:
Go to Gene’s wonderful map and see a photo of each site and whether it has sewer or not. http://www.casitaforum.com/bullards/...P-2011.css.htm
2. Make Campground Reservations:
Go here. Click "Reserve Online"
http://www.reserveamerica.com/campgr...&parkCode=bull
Or call Reserve America 1-800-452-5687 (Monday through Fridays, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, PST)
3. Then You MUST Sign Up for the Gathering:
Then, go here and complete this form:
http://www.casitaforum.com/BullardsRegistration.html
Remember! Even though you make park reservations, we will not know you are attending the Gathering and you will not be signed up for the Gathering unless you complete and send this form.
I will give you (people who attended the last two years) until Thursday, October 14 to get your reservations made. Then I will post a general announcement on the fiberglass trailer boards. (Please, do not publicly post anything about making Gathering reservations until then.)
I hope to hear from you this week and see you at the Gathering next July.
Nancy

Re: Bullard's Beach, OR, July 2011
Tammy, what can I say? Something like great minds think alike!? We had reserved site A23. But when we printed out the reservation, there was this notion at the end, "Site: Jan 1 2009 - Dec 31 2050: This site is on the inside of the loop, at a 90 degree angle. It is only suitable for trailers 16' long or motorhomes under 24' long." So we changed to site A53. Must be the difference between the 5.0 and the 19 footer!!!
See you in June

Marina, Champoeg is about 30 miles south and slightly west of Portland, Oregon.

Re: Bullard's Beach, OR, July 2011
Joanne and I are registered in A40. It says 90 degrees and 16 feet, but when we were there the first time I noticed that I could have got my 17 foot Casita into those spaces. So I went ahead and registered for one of them this time. We will see what happens when we get there.

I dont' think you'll have a problem. There are two "extra" parking spaces either to the left or right of the site. You can always park your tug there. You wouldn't be the first attendees of the Oregon Gathering that did that

The "Suite Escape" is planning on being in C 15 along with her California Crew! I previously reserved B 37, but wasn't careful enough to note it had no sewer hook-up! With all the crew, we definitely need a sewer.

Re: Bullard's Beach, OR, July 2011
Just saw a cancellation in A Loop on the CasitaForum if someone is looking for a good reservation or wants to switch from C Loop (the hinterland!)

Re: Bullard's Beach, OR, July 2011
Hi Donna ,
Reace's parents would like to come to the rally this year. Is it possible for you to forward my contact information to the person who holds this site so that I can ask him about taking his reservation.
Thank you,
Tammy

Re: Bullard's Beach, OR, July 2011
Yes Tammy, I will. Just so you know there is no sewer at the site.. only water and electric. Will that be a problem? I'll have the OP contact you directly.

Re: Bullard's Beach, OR, July 2011
The deed is done. I'm happy that Tammy and Reace get the site for Reace's parents. I had to cancel this reservation and hold off on my purchase of An Escape 17B because of an impending condo purchase and move to Santa Fe (from blizzardly Massachusetts). I hope to make the gathering in 2012.

Re: Bullard's Beach, OR, July 2011
There are several cancellations in A-Loop. Those of you in the hinterlands of C-Loop may want to consider moving. Although I have to say I prefer C-Loop (more sun!), it's seems like a loooong hike to all the main gatherings in A-Loop.
OR... those that have been delaying making reservations, now's your chance!

Let me know if you need further info.

Re: Bullard's Beach, OR, July 2011
One thing I love about this forum (one of many) is hearing about places people have been to. For example, I saw the notice about Bullard's Beach and it prompted me to check out the rally site and the surrounding area. Looks like a great place to visit and one that I would otherwise have never known about.
So keep up the good work Escapees!
