Refund

At 2:54 PM a very nice lady called us back. She was most helpful and credited our credit card account while on the phone. So that transaction is complete with a very minimum of effort.
Sorry we are not going this year, I was looking forward to the three b’s. Boat ride, Barbecued ribs and Beer with friends. Next year then.

After I sent in my expiration date on the card as requested, the refund was confirmed within 1/2 a hour.

'just a reminder that Escape Karl said they might hold a rally later in the season if/when such would be appropriate. Since our summer plans to Escape to Alaska and back are cancelled (postponed 'til 2021?) we're probably opened to almost anything as long as it involved getting in the trailer and exploring new territory.

Reviewed my credit card bill when it came a few days ago. It contained the refund for our reservation for the Escape Rally in Osoyoos. This was our third refund of the year for a camping reservation. As I work around the property and my mind wanders to the calendar I realize a couple times a day “ Hey, I’d be camped in Montana on the way to the rally right now, or I’d be all set up and be enjoying seeing all the rigs come in. And it’s only going to get worse for a couple days as I realize I’m missing a potluck or good meal with far flung friends. But, that’s the way it goes. And we don’t have any desire to get out among them as they say with the current levels of infection and death in our area. So we will do our best right here at home, Have a backyard oak campfire, eat some excellent home cooked food and hope for better days ahead. I’m usually pretty conservative when it comes to spending money but I have to admit, I am missing the opportunity to hit the grocery, hardware or concenience just for the hell of it. Stay safe, count your blessings and get more sleep.

A rainy day in Osoyoos is better than a sunny day stuck inside your home........

We're getting a lot of rain too. Kind of sucks for doing landscape work. Getting caught up on lots of paperwork kind of stuff, running errands, etc. I might even get my taxes done now too.

Later on

And about now I’d be complaining and Rita would say “I’ve got no sympathy for you, you didn’t have to eat so much”. “Get off of the bed and go take a shower, you’ll feel better.”
“ Remember this tomorrow morning”. Although she knows I won’t.

I must be in my youth then, as I never have a food hangover, but the odd time a coffee is needed in the morning to cure that fuzziness in the head.

Results of canceling a long trip: eight refunds totaling more than $1,000. Was a bit worried but most places gave me a full refund. A couple had a card processing fee that was not refunded.

Mike your state cost me! In March just after I cancelled our reservations at two FL state parks each charging a $17.75 fee the parks were closed anyway. I wrote them but of course not even a reply. We've cancelled four reservations now. Will soon cancel a Grand Canyon one, hopefully we'll be using the MN rally in Sept. and the Mississippi rally one, that is if the border opens. It's good we didn't book anything for our Maritimes trip as that's off as well.

Well, shame on us. I'm guessing the park office personnel might be working from home or furloughed. I know some state workers are. Keep trying.

I'm having a hard time assessing the risk of travel, so I'm not making plans for the rest of this year. Could change my mind depending upon the situation.

If an Escape Rally is held in May 2021, which weekend in May will it be held: the last full weekend of the month 27-30 May, or the prior weekend 20-23 May? I realize I'm asking for speculation here.

I believe, historically it tended to be on the USA’s Memorial Day weekend, which this year falls on May 31st. So, I’m guessing the weekend of May 29 - 31. Of course, I guess we could ask Escape! ;-)

It was set up about the third one on for the last full weekend in May. It would be nice if it was back on next year.
