Rally in the Valley

We just made our 3 night reservation in spot #4 with the nice lady on the phone.

Thank to the Escape contest they will be picking up the tab for us this year.

Looking forward to meeting everyone again.

If the open sign is out, we are open for viewing. We like to show outside of the posted show hours as well so people are not rushed and can enjoy more trailers during the posted show hours.

See you all there.

Ed & Marilyn

Neither did I. Also wondered what this "Rally in the Valley" was all about.

The nearest that I can figure is that ETI was sending emails to both M.'s email and mine. Somewhere along the line they only sent stuff to hers and she was presuming that I also was getting the same info.

No worries, I doubt that my entry "Escape Rally" would have gotten any awards.

So I'll look over the available spots. Having 2 kayaks waterfront is usually a priority but for the rally I'd rather be closer to the center of activity since the name of the game is to touch base with folks that you haven't seen for awhile or ever.

I am interested in attending my first rally this coming year (2023). After a quick look at the Nk’mip campground, it seems to have several sections. Is there a particular area where Escapees hang out? Any recommendations would be welcome

No particular section, some like being on the lake, I like the nice pull through sites. Bring a bike to get around and visit folks, the CG is very large....but beautiful also...

Staying here for 3 rallies…here is my opinion.

This first map sits on top of the second map and those spots are not to far from the club house but they are down a little hill. Not great if you need a cane or wheel chair and some of the spots are close together. The spots directly on the water (blue) are usually more expensive. We stayed one year in the first map area and you could not leave the truck window open because of seeds falling from the trees. I also had to sweep off the power awning before I closed it due to the seeds each time. The second year there were May flys just in that map area. We had a hundred or so on the trailer before I could get the jacks down. We managed to change spots as we like to keep the door open when showing the trailer.

The second map shows the large clubhouse where all the dinners and talks take place. No seeds falling from the trees or May flys. The entire map area is level and streets paved for wheelchairs etc. The sun comes from the bottom of the map so if you don’t like the sun you may want to use the trailer as shade. Many times it is to windy to have the awning out to shade you and don’t leave it out if you go to an event or it may not be in the best of condition when you get back.

The other maps on the campground web page are further along the lake so you have to like to walk.

I rarely watch those videos. In the past we always got emails along with a notice on the forum.

Ditto. I sent them a message asking to make sure that my email was still on their list as well as M's. Told them also that you didn't get the email.

So this year we were unable to make a long term commitment for the rally and got our site a couple of weeks before. It was down in the area largely occupied by full timers or long term folks definitely not there for the rally. Things like their own garden shed are a tip off. OK people but we'd rather be closer to Escape folks.

So phoned today and asked for something on the bench. Got #19. Perfect.

Ron

I have always allocated at least 4 nights at the rally, Thurs thru Sunday, as most activities occur during this period.

I'm starting a list of names and campsites. Despite several requests this year for an attendee list with campsite numbers I didn't see one. I was disappointed as there were a couple of people that I would have liked to touch base with. If an official list doesn't come out I'll post mine just before the rally.

Part of the problem is that we booked very late and were down in the area between the office and the store. (181-198), yellow on the map. As I said before there's a lot of permanent folks in that area and you're a bit away from events and other Escapes.

But yours is 2' taller than mine because I was slow to take your advice not to trust the twist lock.
