I remember that. I signed up twice before I finally made it. And was thinking about it the other day. How many do we have at Maryhill this year?

I think it's 18 sites that I know of, but people invite people (as they should) and I'm never really sure until everyone gets there
I'll put the firepit and folding tables in the back of the truck in case you want them.

Paul and Norma: Mary and I are taking over site #30 on April 22 after you check out. If you don't mind, can you advise if you will be leaving early? I will be making Ferry reservations from Pt. Townsend, and would like to know which one to arrive on.
Thanks, looking forward to meeting this group. We may come over by foot on the ferry on April 20 and spend the afternoon so we can meet more of the Escape clan. I will wear an "Escape 19" sign and pretend we are camping.

Brinnon! Just around the corner from one of my favorite camping spots, Seal Rock Campground. We haven't been there since I we bought the 5.0. Great mid-week spot.

Look forward to meeting you!

We canoed to Seal Rock when I was at GS camp. I remember a bunch of people getting poison oak! Other than that I recall nothing about the campground.

HI Jim & Mary - Sorry, not sure where we are headed after Ft Casey. If it's a travel day, I hitch up the night before and we'll be up and out of there early. If it's just home, we should be out of there before lunch.

Jim and Mary, if you have a Discover pass you could park at the day use area on the other side of the ferry until your spot opens up. (Or on the street if there is space, by the ferry dock.)

Thanks for the heads up. And please, so not leave early just for us. I was just trying to figure what time to arrive. Hang around if you have the time, we are hoping to meet lots of Escapers. We may come over by foot on the ferry sometime Monday just to try and catch others before they leave. If so, we will drop by site #30 and say hi!

OK, thanks for the advice. We do have a Discover Pass. Did not know we could park nearby like that.

You can't park overnight so you might call to check the hours but you can park in the daytime (when the park is open). (Maybe call to confirm although I've seen RVs parked over there.)

I'll be there too … have booked all sites at least in spirit … unfortunately can't be there in person. Hello to all though.

Hello Karen! Really great to see you posting …. need to give you a call and catch up.

Sure wish I could join you guys and I'll be watching for pictures and stories. Don't forget traveling stories of getting there and heading home stories too. All part of the experience. Thank you for organizing this now Rally … even though I can't come. Maybe next year or could make an early October 2020 Fall Whidbey / Ft. Casey Rally this year. Hint hint!

You guys are going to have a Great time … So jealous!

Tom

I camped there twice in October 2019. Early October nearly had the trailer blown over! Late October was quite nice. But might not be a bad idea. Lots of sites open now even for the weekends.

But Tom you can't go next year since we hope to be at the Ft. Casey gathering then catch a cruise and I was counting on you showing us your town on April 30

I think it would be nice to see you …. come on. Come one come all …. I have to work March 31 until October 1 … so at least between those dates I'll be in town.

Best to check with the ferries early to schedule your trip as there have been a number of ferry breakdowns so likely will run an abbreviated schedule this summer. Nobody knows. Well , actually I should check to see if the summer schedule has been released yet.

If you have the time and interest, please come!

Tom

The Washington State senior pass ($75 and for Washington State residents only) may be purchased after September 1 for the upcoming winter season. While the pass is good October through April of that same season, it is wise to hold on to it should one want to make an online reservation far in advance for the following winter season.

Yes, good point. You need a number to make a reservation without paying but at least in 2019 it took the previous year's number.

Question- I'm setting up a tour of Fort Casey for Tuesday the 21st. For those who would want to go on the tour (about an hour) would 9 AM be okay or would you prefer afternoon? (I"m thinking leaving afternoon open for other things would be better but will go with the consensus I get in the next few hours so I can reply to the scheduler- she coordinates school tours, too, so can't wait until the last minute to schedule.

The fort is fascinating, part of a defense system for Admiralty Inlet and Puget Sound.

So- respond only if interested, 9 am or afternoon?
