Mini Rally

We decided what the heck. We will be in site #11 . April 21st to 24th. It is just a hop across the border for us.

Growing mini-rally

We're coming too. A hop across the Salish Sea in later April was just too tempting. We are in 12 then 5 then 12 again (figured a bit of moving around to fit in and keep in shape.
Cheers

I have just reserve space at Fort Casey. I cook site 35 for Sunday night April 19th as that was the only one available. I then moved to site 6.
I am excited to come to this rally. . I went to the nog last year In my 26 Class C RV. That rig has been sold and I will pick up my 17 B in Chilliwack Next week. I am excited to meet other. Escape owners And find out. How to pack a tiny rig!

Your rig is two feet longer than mine- but on the other hand, if I forget something I'm 30 minutes from home.

Escape to Fort Casey

Hi gang, new to the Escape tribe, got our 19' last fall. Just booked the only two consecutive nights available, April 22-23 at site #30. Looking forward to meeting you and exploring the Escape mod-possibilities. We cannot make the gathering in Osoyoos, so this will be our rally. Coming from Brinnon, WA

Here is a map of the campground with site information provided by Bobbie. Let me know of any errors.

I am confused about Site #30 as I have two couples there (unless Paul and Norma are only staying the first two nights).

I called the Parks Dept. direct, and they advised that site 30 was only available for me April 22-23. Hope there is not a conflict. We can duel it out with exterior shower hoses.

One time I pulled into my site and was all set up when the ranger came by to ask why I was there. He said that I had cancelled my reservation and someone had already reserved the spot. I had not cancelled. And you know that old adage...possession is nine-tenths of the law (or is it squatter's rights?). I wasn't moving. At any rate, the ranger got it all settled but I don't know where the other guy ended up. It was later determined that an error was made by a clerk typing a cancellation into the wrong site.

Jim and Mary, do you have the night of the 22nd? Most people are scheduled to leave the 22nd so Paul and Norma are probably leaving that morning.

Yes, we have it for the 22nd and 23rd, the only nights we could get. Hope a few Escapers will still be there. For those that do stay longer, come by site 30 for free wine!

You might consider Fort Ebey campground for a night or two before that so you could attend more of the rally. It's close and you could come join the group during the 19-22 events. Or even closer, Rhododendron Park (county), dry camping only.

I added one more night (the 22nd) though I may have to figure out how to hook up the solar panel and charge the batteries! (Especially if it is cold.) So a few of us will be there a bit longer (and happily, no change fee to add a day.)

Shucks, we’ve been out of cell service for a week while beach camping in SoCal so missed getting a site. Guess we’ll drive down from Bellingham for a day and introduce ourselves. If anyone decides they can’t make it and need to cancel their reservations please let us know so we can pick the reservations up.

It is a great spot but maybe a little small for a rally next year.
We also like Deception Pass and Camano Island campgrounds.

There is also Fort Ebey and Rhododendron Park if someone wants to add a night- both should be open for drive-ups midweek in April.

Planning ahead 9 months would allow booking the premium sites at Ft. Casey and then make up to 34 sites available. But Fort Ebey or Deception Pass might be fun, too. Frankly, I'm amazed at the turnout here! Future rallies are something we can talk about at this one.

I think that there are 34 sites available excluding the host site. Fort Ebey and Rhododendron are only a stone's throw away. A small rally appeals to me because it gives one a chance to get to know others better.

You're right- I wasn't counting the inside hookup sites. Duh...

That makes it better- and by planning ahead I think realistically we could all get sites. At least we can try that next year.
