Oct. 4
Mimi and Bob, site 4, Oct. 4-7.
We have a swap item, a paper towel holder that screws in. It won’t fit out 19 but I think it will work in a 21.

Since there are no showers here I guess I'll be testing out my wet bath this morning.

Aren't the showers are on the back of the building? (Opposite side from the restrooms.)
But you should test it anyway!

A huge shout-out to Bobbie for putting together another Escape rally at Fort Casey. She not only hosted a fire on Monday night but fed everyone delicious homemade chili and corn bread for dinner.
During the course of the week we had a total of 15 Escape trailers attend the rally--one 15A, a few 17s, some 19s, a 21, and several fifth wheels.
A grand time...thank you, Bobbie!

Thanks, Karen. As usual, it was fun, relaxing, great to see old friends and meet new ones. Looking forward to April, and not just because there is a winter of wind, rain, cold, and very short days between now and then.

Thanks again from Jane and Ed to Bobbie, Karen and Jinni for hosting evening campfires, especially the rainy under-the-canvas birthday celebration with pie and gluten-free macaroons! And rose'.
I’m wondering if we now have enough Ft Casey Escape people to add additional NWEscape campouts during the year.
Does anyone know of other group camp sites we could reserve for 10+ Escapers and friends?
How about a midwinter winterized campout somewhere?
Or something at an organized group camp with shelter like at Rasar State Park?
Anyone else interested in checking out the possibilities?
Keep us posted

Rasar might be a good alternative to October at Ft. Casey, since we can't get senior off-season reservations until Sept 1 next year. It's also one of my favorite parks. Nice walking trails, and the river is lovely.
We need to see if they allow doubling up on sites (unclear from their website- it says minimum people 25 and that's with 10 hookup sites so sounds like they do expect at least extra tents). Sites are 60 feet long (don't know if width would allow for two TVs but there is extra vehicle parking. Nice shelters partially enclosed with fire pits and if we did off-season and especially weekdays, plenty of extra spaces in the main park.
Ed, maybe you can call the park and see what the deal is on sharing sites in the group camps? (allowed or not, extra charge if allowed?)
The location is good for Canadians, and anyone Seattle north, it's about 1 1/2 hrs from Ft. Casey on 20; would our peninsula friends go that far?
