Heading to Westport WA tomorrow - anyone around, good ideas?

Jane and I are driving from Bellingham to Westport, WA tomorrow and will be staying 6 nights at the Westport Lighthouse Campground and RV Park, a small park maintained as a military MRW facility by the nearby Coast Guard station.

Will anyone be around to meet up or have suggestions for what to do or where to eat between Pacific Beach and Cape Disappointment? It's our first visit to that part of the Washington Coast. We're coming prepared for the weather, to be sure.

Eating: try Westport Winery. Lots of little places in Westport, too.

And if you don't mind a little drive south and east (you go past Washaway beach, which is interesting though now mostly washed away) try Tokeland Hotel. They have a restaurant which is very good.

Lots to do around Cape Disappointment, don't miss Waikiki Beach, Beards Hollow (the start of a fantastic bike trail) and the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center.

We really enjoyed the Columbia River Maritime Museum (https://www.crmm.org/) just across the bridge in Astoria. The museum is on the waterfront, so you can easily combine a trip to the museum with a nice walk around Astoria. In addition, the Astoria Column is a very short drive away and offers great view of the city and the Columbia river. Happy Trails - Bea
