How do you find a location for a rally?

Hello All,
I think this is case but seems to be more and more Escape owners in the SE these days and one thing I've been saying is we need to have a rally here in Georgia. I have no idea really what goes into planning this but first thing I would guess is location, I think this is hardest part since it is so difficult now a days to get any campsite much less the amount you would want for a rally.
Anyone have any suggestions on how you would even start that task? Best to look at private parks I guess over state or Corps of Engineers property?

Enjoy the journey.

Steve

Once you have determined an interest in a get together, pick a place where there is space as well as something for others, perhaps scenic or something nearby that others may enjoy and then pick a date. It is simple, if others want to come they will show. Once you have their attention you can then plan a meal, or hike, or just coffee and donuts as a meet and greet. Not to hard, other than the when and where issues.

In 2004, I organized , and set up the first rally, for an owners group in the SE.

Hanna Park in Jacksonville is worth investigating. Not far from I-10 and I-95. That makes it convenient to lots of east coast people. Lots to do on site or nearby.

They were willing to block off a group of sites for a period of time. That allowed me time to advertise the event. Plus they have common areas you can reserve for different events.

This is April. I would shoot for a September date. Somewhat off season plus gives you time to drum up interest.

Take a look.

Ed

Be sure to check for date conflicts with other competing events.
