Gail and I will be there to take a closer look-see at the 5.0TA's. We've seen a few at the local egg rally here in the past (as well as 17's and 19's, maybe a 21), and liked them. Now that we're nearing retirement and looking at spending months on the road, not a week or two (with our wonderful little Parkliner), we've discussed which way to go for a while. Small motorhome, travel trailer or 5th wheel? Everything we've considered leads us to the 5.0TA. Or we could just sell our place after retirement and buy a big motorhome, but that's just not our style. Now that we're getting serious, we'll see you folks in September.

What a sight

Hi Alf
We will be on the same site as last year. I made the mistake of reading one of Rita’s emails, looks like she’s going to knock me out and roll me onto the free tarp. I guess I gotta straighten up and fly right.

Hi: Iowa Dave... "I site" is one thing... "Camp site" is another. You shouldn't be reading over her shoulder or you could end up a "Free" Dave !!! whistling: Alf

I just got a room at the campground motel for Friday night. We want to see all the Escapes that are open Saturday morning. We can stay till dinner, or leave early and get to one of the kids' place close by in the states for Saturday night, head back Sunday.

I'm saving vacation time for an extra paycheck when I retire this coming December.

I believe the viewing is after lunch on Saturday, but you are welcome to walk around on Friday afternoon and look as most people arrive Thurs or Friday and will be open for business.

That's fine Jim. Not sure when we'll get in. We're taking Friday off to drive over and it's a hike. We could probably spend all of Saturday there if need be. I know Gail is looking forward to it as much as I am.

Thanks,

Frank

Hi Frank
We will be on the post all day starting Thursday morning. You’re welcome to visit our 21 before the regular tour date so you get to see more than one trailer if you stop at ours a day or two early. Try the bed and see what your back thinks and walk tall down the center to make sure your hair doesn’t get messed up. Not that it’s a problem for Alf and me.

Ha ha ha! Thanks Dave. I have hair still, but doubt it will get messed up. Had longer hair as a kid, but I was 6' tall back then. No longer...

We visited a nice 5.0TA over in MA last Saturday. It was a referral from Escape, and was a 2014 that looked brand new. We do want to look at both the 19 and 21 as well, and figured this rally was the place to do it.

We're off to Huntington Beach State Park with our Parkliner week after next. We'll take two days to get down, two days to get back, and are spending a week on the ocean. As you might imagine, I'm looking forward to that too!

Thanks,

Frank

Wine Escape

Hi Allen
If you come up into the end if the campground anywhere around site 51 or so we will spot you. Bring a chair and a thirst, you might be a while getting back to your rig if Alf and I get ahold of you. I’d like for you to teach me how to say “No donuts” in French. Oh that’s another story.

Memory

Yup it all comes back to me now. Somewhere in Quebec, I went inside the combination fuel stop and cafe, I asked for donuts, the young lady behind the counter gave me the French response about three times, then finally “No Donuts”’ I went back out to the truck and fired it up and began to drive away. Suddenly a banging on the side of my pickup, my wife shouting stop #>%!£€%#. I had left her behind. She was a little mad. Got madder when I said “You took French in school, you would have been ok. Mr sympathetic strikes again.

No beignets!

Gents, if you call for beignets in Quebec, they'll know you are an outsider. Although beignets is the correct word, it is used more in pure French. The French north here tend to be contracted, here you would say beignes. In your expression (No donuts) it would be pas de beignes or [I]Noaa pas de beigne[/I ] ( a little droll on the non) .
OH... I look forward to meeting you guys, I can feel some important discussions heading our way LOL

Fitting in

I have a nice collection of plaid shirts and work clothes which I’m sure would let me fit in, in Quebec as long as I did not say anything. And therein lies the problem. Thank you for the lesson.
