Thanks for that ...Hormel has been one of the best performing stocks in our little neighborhood investment club! LOL!

I heard that Hormel is fending off a takeover buyout by the Beecher family. The guy I talked to said they were going to rename it Beecher Meat. Probably just a rumor.

Dave,
There is literally no way I’m gonna touch that one; no response from me!

Hi: cpaharley2008... At this point I'm not even sure we can legally hold a potluck... let alone a Spam brunch. Not sure if Betty's Sunday brunch will be allowed either?
As for Iowa Daves takeover threat... what would happen when the "Beecher kids" need to take over the family firm? Alf

I understand Alf. But when the Beecher kids go to school, their parents may be in trouble.....

Braking news!!!

Hi: All... Seems the Niagara area is slowly waking from the Co vivid slumber. Without any further set backs Niagara Wine Escape 2020 will be a go... in some form or other. More news as it happens. Alf

The following is a quote from the CBC news website June 20th, "I honestly don't think the border will open until the end of the year," said U.S. immigration lawyer Len Saunders. "Especially when you hear about more [COVID-19] cases in Arizona and Texas and all these southern states."

Maybe he was referring to our southern border and no our northern border?

The article headline is, "Canada-U.S. border rules and restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic explained"

Your description seemed more concerned with the southern and southwest states, thus my response.

Honestly, I don’t think Canada will open its border to non-essential travel as long as inadequate COVID-19 suppression continues in the US. And that’s not going to happen anytime soon because suppression methods (masks and distances) are being politicized. Ignorance is bliss and is addressable with education, but you can’t fix stupidity and the politicization of suppression methods is pure stupidity.

I think that’s an accurate assessment Carl. In addition, the sad thing is that when a vaccine becomes available there will be a certain percentage of the population who will not want to get the shot. You see it all the time with resistance by parents who have children ready to start school and not wanting vaccinations for the child. There was something to that Tom Hanks line from Forrest Gump “Stupid is as stupid does”. Hope all is well with you and Gail.

I saw that CBC article today as well and agree that unless the US states get their acts together we shall be staying in MB for the summer and beyond meaning missing not only Niagara but Mississippi as well. Our daughter and family are moving to Kansas next month so they'd be close for a visit but won't be able to unless we fly there, that's right we cannot drive south of our town but could drive north an hour or so catch a plane to KC to visit them since there's no restriction on flying into the US. We'd have to self isolate though on getting home like we did in March though.

Where did you read that? I highly doubt that that occurred. What's your source?

Hi: gbaglo... There's no NP. here on Sun, or Mon. so online had to do. Could very well be "Fake news" but I did read of a CBC report about RCMP ticketings on Yahoo news.
As to Niagara Wine Escape 2020 as Yogi once said "It ain't over till it's over". Alf
