I have done it before, no one stopped me. I think charcoal is okay, it's the campfires that are n issue. It is some what arid there.

Thanks. I have a charcoal table so if I plan to do it I'll bring that along.

I used charcoal on a raised platform to prepare a Dutch oven dish a couple years ago. I checked with the office first & they were fine with it as long as I wasn't burning it on the bare ground.

Great, if I do it, that's what I'll use. Depends on how much stuff I start packing- I may not want to lug the DO table along.

The picnic table sits on a concrete pad that may be large enough for the DO table ( what ever that is? ).

I always have a small one in the front box....just big enough for a single 12" oven. ... You can check it out a Maryhill - I'm sure Norma will be baking

Looked it up. That may be a good thing to get- I like the Dutch oven table because I'm not cooking on the ground, but for trips like this I'd rather not bring along the extra weight.

I use a piece of plate steel on two pieces 4X4 treated when I'm using charcoal for the Dutch oven. But I hate to haul the weight. Gotta have something though. wwwpilotrock.com makes some nice permanent ones if you ever wanted to develop an outdoor cooking area at home and had too much money. At the Rocky Mountain Rally near Durango the Forest service had several of these at that group
Site. Those big grills are pilot rock too and will eat a bag of charcoal like a Morgan horse on grass.
