Ad on Television with Escape in it

I just saw a add on tv for Consumer Cellular with a couple sitting in front of an Escape Trailer. I think a 19 . Any one know whose trailer?

I've seen two different scenes with that Escape. I also recently saw a picture on Lensun's website that must be Jim Bennett's 5.0TA.

If the Escape on Lensun's website is the one featured in the blog, this is the one, it's a 19, not a 5.0TA nor a 17.

I think jennykatz was referring to the Escape in the TV adverts when she said it was a 17.

The picture I saw on the Lensun site was not Mark B1's as shown in the blog section. It was taken from high on the passenger side rear quarter, and the trailer was parked on a gravel strip next to a field. I'm pretty sure it was a 5.0, but I can't find it right now.

EDIT: Wrong on all accounts - it wasn't on gravel, the field might be a lawn, and on further inspection it is a 21C. It was on the 120W panel that is on sale's description page.

This is Jim Bennett's 5.0 picture from post # 1 in his Solar Installation thread.

Enjoy,

Uh, I'm fairly sure that's my trailer. Funny, they didn't ask me about using it. I guess if it is posted to this forum - it's public domain.

Actually, the photo belongs to who ever took it (or paid to obtain the copyright). Posting on a forum does not make the image public domain. In some cases posting allows the forum owners to use the image as they wish - check the rules for posting.

I've had many images turn up in ads, etc. I used to send them a bill or take down order, however I got tired of it & only complain if I don't like the company.

There's probably a reason that Lensun doesn't use Jim Bennett's trailer pictures. He thought about using Lensun panels but instead bought ones that are similar from Aliexpress.

With the quality of photography that you produce, I could see that advertisers would want to use them in their ads.

Lensun did contact me for my permission to share my information and pictures in my post on their blog.

Did any of those companies actually pay the bill you sent them?

Very few. Usually the ones that built a campaign around the photo, or were honest about not understanding that anything Google images finds wasn't necessary public domain. Strangely enough, the most often stolen images have been of chipmunks used by pest removal companies, although others use them. For example, a Pinterest link to an image used by Good Sam (blog.rv.net) that annoys me, but I haven't done anything about it.

There are still plenty of folks that insist if you find it with Google, you can use it.

When I was working on my Masters, I took a 10-week course in Copyrights and Trademarks. The 'text' book from United States Copyright Office was massive. Pretty much everything is covered in Title 17 of the US Code. Theft of Intellectual Property is huge and denies artists of billions of dollars of income a year.

What Donna said!

A plumber makes a plumbing installation for your house and gets paid for their work.
A carpenter makes a house and gets paid for their work.

A painter makes a painting and gets paid for their work.
An architect makes a house design and gets paid for their work.
A musician makes a song and gets paid for their work.

If someone decides to not pay anyone of these people for their work that would be considered stealing.

A photographer makes a photograph. If someone takes it and uses it for their own good (i.e. uses it to promote their business in order for themselves to make money) without paying the photographer then that's stealing. It's the same thing...

I do a lot of audio work. Copyright infringement is really stealing. I’ll never understand how people who at least say they think stealing is wrong, continue to steal from artists.

I just noticed the Escape in the Consumer Cellular Commercial for the first time, did a search on this forum and found Judy's original post. I wanted to share this screen shot.
