Hi: cpaharley2008... I can't even remember my name some days!!! Guess I missed an opportunity to try out the "Auto" feature.
I'm still trying to wade thru the manual without getting paranoid!!! Alf

Has anyone come up with a guard or more suitable replacement for the kill switch?

Hi: Cypherian... There's a total kill switch for the entire trailer on the 5.0TA. Trouble is on our 5.0 it was inside the storage bunk near the water heater. The new location is outside, beside the power center. Alf

Hi: Cypherian... Seems like the fridges are dying of their own accord. No switch required. LoL Alf

I put one of these on mine Amazon.com: New 12V/20A Red LED Illuminated On/off SPST Car Automotive Toggle Switch Button: Automotive
bought the switch and removed the cover, it just screws on.
Also you can install a small led to tell you when it is on, so if it's dark you can investigate, did that mod to my 19 Escape, haven't yet to BlackJack. I'll get a "roundtoit" one day.

Thanks folks, I'll try Myron's approach. Jim, I believe the original switch is 30A, the one in the link is 20A.

My understanding was that Jim, cpaharley, just removed the red plastic cover from the 20A switch and moved it over to the one in the trailer??

Yes I know, I just used the cover, still have the switch itself, you are correct JohnB.

Wouldn't it be easier just to check the lights on the fridge to make sure they are on before closing the door for travel?

In our old stick trailer with a old school Dometic fridge we used to have to be carefull to not freeze things, My solution was pack my beers around the fins and keeep things like letuce closer to the door. The bonus was really cold beers with just the beginings of ice crystals sooooo yummy on a hot day.
