Reace and Tammy Retire

Hello everyone...

here is our official announcement
Strategic Partner – What did that mean for us? Escape has grown so much larger than we ever imagined it could when we started in 2002. “How hard can it be?” was our mantra and we always thought we could manage it and handle the pressure as the company grew. The last expansion in 2016/17 was the largest yet for us and to be honest, it was becoming overwhelming, and something needed to change. The timing was right to move forward with a partnership with KV (Aug 1, 2018) and we were excited for all they could bring to the table to help move the company forward. Fast forward a few months…in the spring Tammy stepped back and started working part-time from home. As the days moved on, Tammy and I started to look at life differently and began looking at the possibility of ‘escaping’ from Escape and starting to live a normal relaxed life (like we see so many of our customers’ doing). After discussions with KV, they agreed to assume full ownership of the company and as of June 1, 2019, we officially retired from Escape! I saw a post, someone said they probably took the money and ran…YOU BET…you only live once and life is way too short!

KV and Karl have graciously agreed to ‘keep the door open’ for us, however right now we want to put Escape in the rear-view mirror as we navigate through the next stages of life.A special thank you to all of you that helped us grow Escape to the company that it has become. We have built many great friendships along the way and we look forward to camping with you guys in the near future.

Best wishes to both of you, hope to cross paths with you someday out camping. Escape will always be the company that you created - what a legacy!

Not to mention designing the most beautiful fifth wheel of all time...

Reace and Tammy
You’re always welcome in Iowa The latch string at our humble abode is always out and the beer is always cold. Best of luck in this next stage in your life. As I said a few years ago when we bought the 19 from AZ Jack and Nancy, I’ve worked 50 summers and that’s enough. And I was right. Our Escapes have been wonderful except for the Max Fan that Reace had to teach me to run.
Thanks for everything.

Congrats you two, both for accomplishing something truly special with Escape, and for having the vision to know when and how to move on. Many thanks for everything from our family clan, and best wishes for the future! Tonight we’ll drink some Leininkügel Summer Shandy, and put a full glass at the head of the table for you and yours.

Thank you both for all you have done. You have enriched the lives of many, and have more than earned your "retirement!"

Reace and Tammy, as much as we will miss you at ETI, I am overjoyed for you getting into your next phase of life. Reace, you got to sample Mary's homemade pizza and my home-brews, so it's only fair if you come visit and Tammy get to sample them too! You know you are always more than welcome to visit us anytime!

Great announcement. You guys moving on into a different lifestyle is awesome. Looking forward to many more meetings in the future, and camping in a non-rally way would be a great one.

Well deserved. Congrats!

Cindy and I thank you both for bringing such a great product to the market, we love our Escape. And, also for all the advise you so freely gave over the years when I popped in or e mailed with questions.

See you on the road.

Congratulations, Reace and Tammy; and thank you for all.

You, of course, know that everyone on the Forum is going to be watching out for you. So,.....sort of like the "Where's Reace" E21 repair trip around the US, let us know where you'll be. There will be extra seats at the fire, and a pint or two, waiting for you.

Camped on the edge of a beautiful lake in my Escape, I finally logged on and found the anticipated announcement.
Congratulations, and only look back with pride.
