I typically close my eyes when faced with the oscillating saw (in the movie screen)! I am an expert with the credit-card saw but will try to use the hacksaw if that fails.

Why not cut them both so that both wheels start from the same level? Otherwise one wheel is supporting (ever so slightly) more weight than the other. Also, if you cut them both, you needn't worry about which goes between the wheels and which doesn't. And cutting them is simple.

A circular saw will do the trick, as will a nice sharp hand saw of any sort.

Buy a hacksaw and a course blade.

Hi: kavm... There's an old saw that says something like "It's good to know how... but not necessarily to do it". I cut both of mine to avoid the picked the wrong one syndrome!!! Alf

I bought another companys version (Beech Lane); black solid plastic of some sort. They work great and come in a nice zippered duffle bag. I cut mine with a jig saw, but it ruins the blade. But blades are cheap.
Also I filed the edges rounded/smooth with a rasp and file, no sharp edges now.
